NEW BIGXII TIEBREAKER!!!!!!
New Big 12 tiebreaker.
Here Is Big 12 Football’s New Tiebreaker Procedure
Dan Lyons
"In 2014, the Big 12 had two of the best teams in the country in Baylor and TCU. The Bears and Horned Frogs finished the season with one loss each, and played one of the most entertaining games of the year—a 61-58 Baylor win in Waco. When it came to choose the four team College Football Playoff field, however, the conference’s two powerhouses were both left at the altar in favor of Ohio State, who gained a ton of momentum with a massive 59-0 Big Ten Championship win over Wisconsin. Without a conference championship, the shared title may have hurt Baylor and TCU, so the Big 12 has created a tiebreaker procedure to settle that issue."

"Eventually, one would imagine that the Big 12 will expand and play a championship game, but the league seems content at 10 teams for now, so this seems like a decent first step to settle this issue. Now, we’ll have to see if it works come December when the playoff teams are revealed."

It doesn't matter unless Texas or Oklahoma are one of the teams being considered its always going to play out like it did this year.

RE: NEW BIGXII TIEBREAKER!!!!!!
It really does not matter which school the conf. declares as champ.
Declaring Baylor as champ would NOT have put them in the playoff.
Same for TCU.
The reason they were left out is because Ohio State showed their vast improvement and mettle in a CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME.
Had the BEVO 10 had such a game, it would have been extraordinarily difficult for OSU to leapfrog.
The denseness of the conference leadership is-amazing, disgusting, and many many other things. None good.
Had we a choice, the Bevo Bunch would be last on my list. I'm not sure the leadership is CUSA quality. Perhaps not Sunbelt. Hell, I KNOW it's not.

The stupidity of Big 12 leadership is eerily similar to that of the late Big East. Their actions, are of course, also due to selfishness of the upper tier of members who are only interested in maximizing short-term gain, knowing full well that if/when the conference dissolves, their future is safe.

If there is a silver lining in this (A big "if"), it gives the UofM 12-24 additional months to a) showed continued or sustained progress on the athletic field, b) continue improving academic status, c) accelerate brick & mortar facility plans across campus, and d) increase funding for future capital campaigns. I truly hope that the state of TN sees the UofM's joining of a P5 conference as a way to advance their plans for secondary education and improved economic infrastructure. The P5 check one would reduce the burden on the state of TN. It makes a ton of sense dollar wise and with it would come our our governing board.

The biggest issue the B12 has allowed to happen by not being proactive on this is the perception that a B10 team could be more deserving than a B12 team. The B10 has had a historically ugly BCS and post season bowl record. And in the span of one short year, the B12 has allowed that perception to be reversed.
So now, even if the B12 held a CCG and the same situation arose between Baylor and TCU, and one of those teams won the CCG, I'm still not sold Ohio St wouldnt jump them. There's no way prior to this year that would happen, but now with Ohio St winning the whole thing, I dont see how either of those teams could stop them.
Way to shoot yourself in the foot, B12.

I will add this. If Texas or OU makes the playoffs and gets their arse handed to them it will be a long time before they get to come back. See notre dame - bama
