I agree. If you could get the Big 10 then this could move up our list. Otherwise I see very little point.

Obviously most of you don't get how bowls work... YOU NEED A LOCAL organization to step up and do the ground work for the bowl... The New England Patriots appear to be willing to work with the conference on this... similarly to how the Big East approached the New York Yankees in creating the Pin Stripe Bowl... the stronger and more organized the group leading the ground game is, the more likely the bowl is a success. If their are no local organizations willing to step up in communities to run one (or they can't swing multiple bowls with sponsor support in an area) the conference can't just go ahead and say lets have one here - without local support, it becomes WAY to expensive!

I think everyone understands just fine. In this case, most of us see no NEED for an additional bowl and little desire to play a crappy opponent in the Polar Vortex Bowl. If we are truly interested in something like this in the northeast, we should be talking to the folks in the Colts organization and set something up in an indoor facility.

I agree he isn't blowing up the phone for this but I also recall several interviews and articles where he mentioned the Big 10 wanted to add another bowl. Since they are trying to increased their presence on the east coast what better way then a bowl in an NFL stadium on the east coast. I am not saying it will happen but I wouldn't rule it out completely. If we could lure the big 10 then I would drop one of the lesser bowls we have since there is no chance we have 8 or 9 bowl eligible teams the way some of our teams are trying to schedule P5's.

Then we just need to figure out how to get the PAC 12 in the Miami Beach Bowl and we would have 5 P5 bowl games. That is a start.

This...might as well just be called the UConn bowl. Also, would probably be the only way you guys play BC.

The Temple Bowl. Owls look to be much better than the Huskies for the next couple of years.

I too thought Temple was playing exciting football at the time... No AAC should be left out period... If creating another bowl so no AAC member isn't left out so be it.

If I am not mistaken, doesn't the AAC have 7 bowl tie-ins? Just from a PR perspective, what happens if the AAC comes up short for Bowl Teams without an ACCESS team? Navy has drastically upgraded the schedule for last year. Maybe Aersco is looking for a bowl to sell again to get P5 for Miami and keep the bowls at 7. The ACC will be likely needing another bowl. I really think the if they may be able to get the ACC/CUSA to do the years opposite of the St. Pete Bowl for the ACC 10th bowl slot. Even a better idea would be switch it for Miami instead and move the G5 teams to the winter game.

The AAC probably is the one G5 conference that truly "needs" the G5 Access spot from PR perspective. Next year could be the make or break perception for the G5 since the Football and Basketball did not meed expectations. I can't remember, was the TV deal 3 or 6 years? The good news, I do think the AAC will get all the P5s they have bowl tie-ins with. Bad news, probably have very few chances at Liberty Bowl.

BBVA Compass Bowl, Birmingham, Ala. – vs. SEC
Beef 'O' Brady's Bowl St. Petersburg, St. Petersburg, Fla. – vs. Conference USA
Miami Beach Bowl, Miami, Fla. – vs. Conference USA
Military Bowl presented by Northrop Grumman, Annapolis, Md. – vs. ACC
Sheraton Hawaii Bowl, Honolulu, Hawaii – vs. Mountain West
Boca Raton Bowl, Boca Raton, Fla. – vs. MAC
Orlando Bowl vs SBC

I think think the real reason we want another bowl is so we can trade the opponent spot away from the Miami bowl like last year so that BYU/Pac 12 can fill it while still sending all of our elegable teams to bowls.

Yeah I am pretty sure Boca or the Cure will be traded for getting a better team in the Miami. That would leave us with 6 tie ins which might not be enough if we don't land the access bowl since we are adding Navy.

Of course I would only be interested in this game if you could get the ACC or Big 10.

Hope not. Too many bowls already. Not to mention cold weather bowls where you can't even ski at least...

PAC12 hahaha!!! Why is this board so in love with playing vs the PAC's 8th best team with all 25 fans they bring???? Besides, if the PAC ever commits their 8th place team with a bowl it'll be vs their geographic neighbors and long time rival schools in the MWC

Cuz we probably heard of the #8 Pac12 team. I'd rather play them than a team that was playing FCS last week.
