In that case, the greater media influence and availability of games would explain why Alabama owns Huntsville more than Alabama A&M, but it wouldn't change the fact that Alabama does own that city more than Alabama A&M.

Thus, IMO, TV ratings are a valuable source of information about market ownership.

Oh, wow I'm sorry you seem to know more about the city that I live in, work in, went to school in, and do community service in.

The SWAC has no TV contract per say so there are no games on TV. I can see if we were comparing two schools who had the same level of TV access but that does not apply to Alabama A&M or UC.

FYI I was in Cincinnati for work two weeks ago and I would agree that UC is more popular than Ohio State in the city.

The only way that you could prove one team is more popular than another team in the city would be to poll people living in the city and ask who they root for not what the most accessible team for the to watch on TV is.

Quo wouldn't know...he surveys things from his home in La. or wherever he lives and then forms his opinions which he then puts forth as facts. If he spent a day or a weekend in Cincy he would know he's wrong. But he's never one to admit it. I accept that.

All i need to believe it is actual evidence, not wishful thinking of Bearcats fans.

Based on your comment that UC 'owns a "few blocks around campus' you have jack %##@ for your facts. Maybe you should try and get real facts instead of the bull%$#@ that is echoing in your SEC head? Just a thought.

PS: Do you smell like Corn dogs like most LSU Fans? Just wondering.

RE: CUSA current negotiations on new TV contract
Just read an article from Grantland. It was about the Crosstown Shootout (UC vs XU) from a guy's perspective who isn't from Cincy but lived there 9 years. Among other things, he said this in passing:

1. In my experience, if you met someone from Cincinnati on a cruise and asked where they were from, they’d probably say, “Cincinnati.” Meanwhile, people from everywhere else in Ohio would simply say, “Ohio,” people from all over Indiana would say, “Indiana,” and people from Kentucky would say, “Kentucky.”

This further shows what I've been saying. Cincy folk by in large do not associate with the rest of Ohio. Cincy votes a certain way, the rest of Ohio votes differently. Cincy has a different culture, mentality, etc etc etc. People in Cincy root for Cincy (Bengals, Reds, Bearcats, XU). There are other fans, (Ohio State, Notre Dame, Cleveland Indains/Browns, IU, UK, Indiana Pacers) sure, but overall Cincy folk root first and foremost for all things Cincinnati. This includes UC over Ohio State as a whole. So Quo...you are just wrong. You have never lived there. Everything I've cited is from people who live there. You and your assumption, on this particular issue, are wrong.

RE: CUSA current negotiations on new TV contract
Wow, I stumble onto this thread and see this UC vs. OSU thing. Even the OSU fans in Cincinnati will admit that this is a UC town. It's not even close. It's not a debate at all if you lived here. In fact, as stated earlier in the thread, the OSU fans here do complain a lot and wonder why Cincinnati isn't more of an OSU town.

Well, because it's Cincinnati...not Columbus. We have our own team.

Cincinnati belongs to...Cincinnati. Honestly, there are WAY more UK fans here than OSU fans.

TV right values have gone up.

You are probably right as live programming seems to rise automatically now, especially with new sports networks hurting for live programming.

I've never seen an Ohio St. fan say that. I see lots of Cincinnati fans say that.

Now I haven't lived in the area for a very long time and things do change, but Cincinnati didn't have that big a following. Houston football in Houston drawfed Cincinnati football in Cincinnati. Now that was before Cincinnati got in the Big East, so as I said, things can change, but like quo, facts are more convincing than a bunch of Cincinnati fans beating their chest and saying, We're #1!

Ohio St. is more dominant in Columbus and Cleveland than Cincinnati, but that doesn't mean Cincinnati is dominant in Cincy. The Reds are dominant in Cincy.

Is this your childish way of admitting that you don't have any more 'facts' to back up your claim of Bearcats dominance in Cincy than I do mine? I guess so. 07-coffee3
