Wait....he didn't have a WMU offer??
http://highschoolsports.mlive.com/news/a...cart_river
Per Mlive
Quote:During his recruitment period, Slaughter received interest from numerous schools, including Indiana, Wisconsin, Pittsburgh, Buffalo, Toledo and Western Michigan, but CMU was his only Division I offer.
How can that be. The slappies were all high fiving over there when he verballed to them. Claimed Snoozer Dan had stole one right from under WMUs nose.
According to Slaughter, "Not one recruit is planning to bail."
I think he's wrong on at least one of those. As for the rest of them, you can't bail if no one else is offering.

RE: Wait....he didn't have a WMU offer??
I was literally just about to post this article and say... okay, now I'm starting to feel sorry for this kid. He is completely naive to the situation at hand.
“Things settled down a bit and I talked with the coaches and they outlined the situation,” Slaughter said. “We all think everything is going to work out pretty well. I feel much better about it now.”
Slaughter said one of his main concerns was about how much of the coaching staff was going to leave. After talking with the staff, Slaughter said a lot of them have decided to stay, which reinforced his decision.
... as if it's their choice when the new guy comes into town.

"A lot of them have decided to stay" .............Poor kid. Apparently, no one has the heart to tell him how this works.
"Coach Nystrom, this is Logan Slaughter.........the player from Mendon. Y'all going to stay in Mt. Pleasant, right?"
"Uhh, sure kid. We're not going anywhere....for now."
"Good Coach, I'm sticking with you guys, and I'm majoring in Undecided!"
"Great kid, Undecided is one of our most popular majors."

Slaughter was offered a walk-on spot, nothing more from WMU. He is saying all the right things now with CMU, and I wish him well. Make no mistake, he wanted to get an offer from WMU. His family wanted him here. His older brother is about to graduate from Western.
In the end, he wasn't a good fit for scholarship.

Nah, just naive. He's a very smart kid who should dominate CMU's train-wreck of an engineering program.
