What kind of an impact would that have on the team, recruiting, and what kind of 5 year impact do you think it would have?

Do you immediately start being the top ranked G5 team, or do you just become an above average G5 team.

NC, what IF Santa Claus was real and Rudolph's nose was red?
I would ask him for a new Mustang GT350R for Christmas next year.

Of course a GSU fan would want a Mustang. 01-wingedeagle

and it would be mustang number 3 for me :-D
And car number 6 in the past 7 years, but who's counting?
And I already have one, so what's one more?

RE: What if a SBC school hired an Urban Myer/Nick Saban
Most schools would have to sell their library or something to pay a Nick Saben. That would mean closing the school and just forming a professional team of some sort. So....it could kill a program, or a school even.

That's one way of looking at it. The closest similar situation we've seen in the sunbelt would be AstAte's hiring Malzahn or Petrino at WKU when they were still here. I'm not sure of the difference that was made at WKU. However, form AstAte's standpoint it elevated the program immediately and nationally. Money came with him. A lot of that left with him, but we've found donars who rose up to help. He was the catalyst for our current building program. He got us talked about in the national press more than any other coach did. He had success here, but he had an awesome qb, a stellar defense, and 2 good field goal kickers.....maybe just one, can't recall when one of them left. He helped recruiting, or so we thought. There are a large number of his recruits that are no longer here or that don't see the field. If we had to do it again......we probably would. But, we'd know not to believe everything he said. He did a good job of promoting the program while he was here and he knows football, however....in several ways he left a bad taste in a lot of mouths. He's not a bad guy at all, but he doesn't always treat people right.

I also find it ironic that it took him 2 or 3 months to even learn Aplin's name (he called him 16). Then he said App was the kind of kid you'd want to marry your daughter. Well, Ryan chose someone else for that, but Gus still hired him at Auburn.

The only way a Nick Satan or Urban Cryer would wind up at GS is if they had done something horribly stupid, embarrassing, or illegal or some combination of the three and fallen off the mountain top, in which case I wouldn't want them.

Something similar to this has already happened to a member of CUSA. Larry Coker won a NC at Miami and now he's at UTSA. They are doing ok, but in no way are they the world beaters that they thought they'd be with a coach with that history.
