From the interviews and things I have read and seen from Coach Fuente, I say Mendenhall is fabricating to try to motivate. I am not angry with him, but I don't like coaches who fabricate things.

A coach that has to lie to his team......lacks credibility. Why take this route when you do not have to? He is not even good at lying. He needs to take some lessons from Coach Cal.

I hope our defense gets after the BYU QB.
I hope we get to the game with a chip on our shoulders.
As the season progressed, there were some games that we played like that I felt we didn't go in there as physically as we have in the past.
Example last year against UCF...we took the game to them, and dominated the game statistically. We did the same against Louisville.

I went to CBSSports.com and Grant Milners article was on there where he basically says that quote is NOT Coach Fuente's style and Mendenhall made it up. Basicallly, it is all over the Internet that Mendenhall is making this story up. Not good for BYU to be so obvious in this missrepresentation of the truth.

BYU is top three of teams we will have played this year. Ole Miss, UCLA, BYU. Game will be a challenge.

He is basically giving our team fuel for the game. Our guys aren't going to like someone dragging Fuente's name through the mud like that

I've already been thinking it, but just maybe they will get flagged. We are up with a bullet. They have isolated themselves in some ways.

This could get interesting. At a public school such as Memphis this would not be a big deal. But BYU has a direct connection to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. What out board of trustees may look at as no big deal. The Church Elders could see this as a direct violation of Church teachings. To the Church lying and bearing false witness are two MAJOR violations of the Church's teaching.
