I'd quibble with this statement. Many college Football schedules/games are set years in advance, but college Basketball schedules/games tend to be set during and after the NCAA Tournament, and many of the early-season tournaments are set no more than about one year before.

This is correct. The early season tournaments, at least the espn ones, are done about a year in advance.

We seem to go to a tournament every year. Our previous and current coaches like to do them. These exempt tourneys allow you to play multiple games that will only count as one game towards your max of 30 (or whatever the number is) games a team is allowed to play.

We had about 80-100 ODU fans at the P-Jam. Our two previous trips there we had 300-400. I heard that the tournament runners like to invite teams with fans that travel well. This year was a mess since our seniors who basically started out football program played their final game at home the Saturday of the tourney. Lots of folks who would have gone stayed home for the football game.

Charleston was probably disappointed with our turnout this year. We had a great crowd the last time we played there, but this year's tournament coincided with a home football game and us hosting an NCAA tournament match in soccer. Normally the soccer game may not matter much, but we were a top 10 team most of the season.

Two teams at the P-Jam had been to the Charleston tourney, All the fans I talked to said it was their favorite tournament.

Understandable. It's an easy trip for a lot of people on the east coast and relatively affordable.
