I don't think many thought y'all would go down that road. Most assumed it would be in the 3-5 win range. TXST won four in their first year (of course the WAC ended up being the strongest G5 that season). I thnk that is the range that is expected and a good sign of progress. UMass wasn't so lucky and ODU is in that ballpark. UNCC should be an interesting one to follow. UTSA started strong and then collapsed thisyear with a senior heavy team. Turns out they really miss their QB.
They won't win a game next year, everything about them reeks of Ga State at this point.

Well, they open with State, so who wins that?

FWIW, I've gone back through some of the threads from before the season and noticed it seems to me it was mostly fans of the exiting members that were telling us we'd get kicked around our first year in FBS.

Texas State has a great team.
USA beating App decisively with only 5 years under their belt is crazy IMO.
Troy has way too much pride and history to stay down.
Ga State has more money than God.
NMSU needs to get on the train.
The conference is solid from top to bottom when you look through this GS fans eyes.
But we all have to start scheduling smarter and winning more OOC than we lose because a conference that is tough top to bottom will only beat up on each other producing a bunch of mediocre to bad records. Everyone's goal should be to go at least 2-2 in OOC and the top teams need 3-1 and occasionally 4-0. That's the only way to change perception.
Yup - Sun Belt could really use a couple of breakout team that wins a P5 game, wins the rest of the OOC, and dominates the conference (but not in a Marshall-the-rest-of-the-league-sucks way)

Filmed during the Costal Carolina game, which CC won 59-34.
CoAstal Carolina...
Georgia State should be able to win this game very easily next September.
FIFY.
Just to be fair, CCU is a very good FCS team this year.

You mean the #1 ranked FCS Coastal Carolina? They've been really good for a couple of season's now. I personally would not want to play them.
UNCC on the other hand. :)

I was really hoping TXST would finish off your Illini but it wasn't to be.

Those are the types of games Sun Belt teams need to win to get over the hump - lower level P5 teams. Monroe was able to do it with Wake, but that is the only P5 win this year (USA still has USC-E, and GaState still has Clemson).
Going 4-27 OOC versus other FBS conferences is not good, and is something that keeps the perception of the conference down. That and multiple FCS losses (Sun Belt, MAC and C-USA all had two, AAC and MWC had zero this year).

Coastal Carolina is not good. The FCS is as watered down as the whiskey in a Honkey tonk.

Said by UNCC students why they now don't want football:
"It is too hot outside."
"We don't even know the team who is blowing us out right now."
"The tailgate is too far of a walk to the stadium."
"The games start too early, I like have to wake up before 12."
"We don't even have a band, if we had a band I would watch that."
and now the next one coming soon:
"It is too cold outside."
