I use to catch him in the morning on 56am, but lately his lusts for how great ole miss, miss.st and how great the $ec is, with him being the voice of the Tigers, it's just a little too much for me to take, so I've just quit listening to him all together.

the best way to follow a basketball game that isn't televised is Jason Smith on Twitter, he is excellent.

Football is a little harder to follow on Twitter.

I feel the same way. That's why I wish the school had an official Twitter account for the football team instead of that fanmade account that's ran by a 15 year old.

Don't forget many season ticket holders listen to the play-by-play broadcast while sitting in their seats at the game!!

Also, when the radio broadcast was live streaming on the internet and I was not able to get in front of a television (like many thousands of fans and alumni still are today), we would listen. Up until WREC (or whomever carried the games in years past) quit providing it on their website and iHeartRadio took it over), I actually listend to Wolo-vision quite regularly here in Nashville!

In a way, I am glad I don't have to hear his voice any longer, because he drove me crazy for years due to his ineptness as an announcer. The best part of the broadcasts were the postgame reports and call-in shows after football and basketball games!

Yes. Jim Nantz, I believe. "He carries out to the 53."
'Nuff said.

BUT...mistaking a field goal attempt for a punt is unconscionable from a play by play standpoint.

I never defend Dave but if he did happen to look down for a split second and looked back up it would be hard to know how that play developed.

I wrote Tom Bowen about Dave last year. I just let him know my own personal thoughts as someone who lives out of town and sometimes have to resort to listen to the Tigers Network, that if we are serious about moving the program forward, he should think about the image that the broadcast projects.

Seriously, I hope you pointed out to Bowen the need to make that term actually applicable. We have a crappy radio network. I should be able to listen to tigers broadcasts anywhere in the 3-4 county area, but you get east of the Fayette Co. Line, you are SOL.

We were broadcast a few years ago on 93.5 FM out of Covington. Now they have the Vowels. I don't know what happened in that negotiation, but that needs to be brought back, or some other decent FM signal. AM sucks for range, especially at night.

I was being a bit snarky with the Tiger Network comment. I remember a game at Jonesboro, maybe 2000, when we won on a last minute field goal. We got in the car and could not even pick up the Memphis station for the post game.

When I was in college at Ark State, we listened to FM100 all the time.

And I like listening to the coaches show on Monday nights. I don't want to have to drive to freaking Lakeland to di it!

My Father-in-Law is in his mid 80's and is a devout Tiger fan. He is an intelligent man but like many Tiger fans his age he relies on the radio, TV, and print newspaper for his Tiger news and games. Radio is still needed today.

Wolo will be the voice of the UofM until HE decides otherwise unless he gets caught with a 13 year old. Let's move on to more pressing matters.
