RE: Sun Belt QBs thru week 4
I tried to not be a homer and vote for Jones but he really is the top right now. I like Arbuckle too but he has thrown too many INTs and Ellison looks good too but hasn't thrown many TDs. Should be interesting to see how it plays out by years end.

Linehan has been sacked 11 times this year according to ESPN stats.

me too, but Jones really has been a bright spot for us. He's held his own against everyone so far...

I didn't realize he had 8 int's. Other than that those are some pretty good numbers. That's a ton of yardage.

Tyler Jones, TXST (3 games) 74/104 71.2% 845 yards 9 tds 2 int 164.1 rating 114 yards rushing 2 rushing tds
is pretty impressive with only 2 interceptions. Highest QB rating also.
If some of the others didn't have so many interceptions they would be right in there, but ball protection is
most important stat to me.

Ellison has the highest QB rating... but with 65 less attempts than Jones and in 4 games to Jones' 3

This. I think the Troy QB has looked decent too, but when the offense has been that lame and the losses that they've had, its hard to rank him high.

Our "backup", Favian Upshaw has seen a lot of playing time... and not just garbage time either. He isn't used like a traditional backup QB.
Upshaw has gone 9/16 for 142 yards (56.3%), 1 TD and 0 INT (151.4 rating). He also rushed for 105 yards and 1 TD on 12 carries.

Ellison does have the best QB rating. Guess if Upshaw hadn't played so much he would
have really high overall stats also. But still has over 300 yards rushing.

What I'm absolutely loving about Jones is that 71.2% completion pct and the TD to Int ratio. Just head and shoulders better than our previous QB's Arndt and Moore. he's also had a quiet 114 rushing yards this season, took a couple sacks last week but all in all just a wickedly athletic player.
we definitely found a gem.
I haven't actually seen Ellison play yet this year, but his numbers are impressive.

I agree with you about Jones but I looked at it as throws per touchdown.
Jones - 11.56 tpt
Ellison - 13.00 tpt
Arbuckle - 17.67 tpt

I don't see any CLEAR winner, went with the homer vote.
I do think pass efficiency is an overrated stat that will favor teams with offenses like ours.
In Ellison's defense though, his games were against two undefeated ACC teams and South Alabama. He barely played any against SSU and a lot of these QBs have had cupcake games.

Nick Favray has looked pretty good most of the time. He will get better as the season progresses, but needs to lower that INT number.
He is that entire team. They have another play maker or two, but without him, GaSt is worse than, well, GaSt.

Three of them were against Washington. One was a heave as time expired against NMSU. It is what it is.

We have a very deep WR core and 3 TEs who can all play. To make that statement is to say you haven't seen them play and just watch box score..I hope.
