You're right. I forgot about how we were told that there were hundreds of candidates interested and how desirable the job was.

I don't remember ANY of that talk.

Jeez this could be serious. I hope for his sake and for the entire CMU community its not attempted shoplifting level serious but something minor. We wouldn't want their program to go through that kind of public humiliation.

Looks like it IS possible to get in trouble with the law as a Football player and NOT necessarily be found out by not only the football program BUT the University... interesting... The fact that he apparently was charged in APRIL... and still somehow was able to play two games before he was found out... just as interesting.

One would think that a person who was capable of completing 43 credit hours in 3 months at UM would be smarter than to do something like this.

This guy is an academic superman. He completed 43 credit hours in 3 months at one of the countries finest learning institutions. Einstein would struggle with that class load. After all that studying, writing of papers, etc. the poor kid was probably mentally drained and simply didn't know what the hell he was doing.

Or he swiped some credit hours from un-suspecting under-grads.

No, that was Boone, their freshmen QB from last year. He's playing at some FCS school now. Rawls swiped these from a casino patron.

Let's see... a couple of 19 year old's getting cold feet before attempting to steal a shopping cart full of liquor and car stereo equipment from Walmart OR a fifth year senior stealing granny's purse at the casino and going on a spending spree with her credit cards.

I don't condone either act, but this certainly puts ours in perspective a little bit.

Of all the place to snatch a credit card, he picks a casino? Was a bank not available to commit theft on camera?

As far as Rawls is concerned... maybe its a case of... You can take the criminal out of flint but you just cant take the flint out of the criminal... Or maybe... you can take the criminal out of flint, but putting him in Mt. Pleasant with the CMU football teams just puts the criminal back in him... we have no way of knowing..
