RE: Central Michigan
CMU had a great first possession and have done nothing since then. Offense totally ineffective and defense has been weak against the run since the half.

RE: Central Michigan
First drive they went right down the field and had to settle for a FG. Since then they haven't done much to move the ball. And have 3 or 4 turnovers that have given Cuse scores and short fields.

Quote:Theres a wide cross section of B1G MAC games. The only reason we even care about Purdue is to evaluate WMU (or to discredit or dismiss any positives from week1) but we won't even need that in a few hours.

Purdue played TWO Mac teams -- including us. CMU getting rolled by 'Cuse shows how BAD Purdue is, thus, yes, us. And also, it shows how bad the MAC is, getting rolled at home by Syracuse, a 6-6 level team in an old Big East conference.

And with Ohio getting trounced by Marshall (where Miami-OH at least put up a fight against them) -- shows that as kinda-expected, they suck ballz this year.

BGSU seems like a formidable opponent and adjusting to their star QB out for the season. And with Toledo falling asleep and getting punked by Cinci -- the MAC looks sub-par this year.

NIU seems to be the only bowl-challenging team from the conference. Ball State, if they can get an O going after their senior QB graduating last year, could end up being a good team. And Toledo could adjust better as the year rolls on, getting their O to gel better to make points out of their drives.

1. NIU
3. Akron
5. BGSU
6. Ball State
6. Toledo

Correct.

Also makes you realize how much different things are when a team is without their top 2 offensive players.

How much I wish we would have been able to hire Scott Shafer instead of PJ.

Well, to be fair: BGSU lost their star QB, and they now re-took the lead against Indiana.

Losing a good back & top WR -- at least a team's going to have multiples on that end.

Yeah, the BG - IU game is pretty entertaining so far.

CMU, not so much. Getting dominated.

Shafer did interview with WMU. Problem was the he was also interviewing with Cuse, his employer, at the sametime.

Falcons score to retake the lead again. Went for 2 and missed.

32 - 28 BG.

Is CMU's Tony Annesse the son of the HC at Ferris (same name)?

Thats exactly what I was thinking! They might want to shut down that program after the results of the CMU/Syracuse game.

IU retakes the lead over BG. Hoosiers may be mediocre, but they DO have some speed in Coleman - 153 yards so far. Soon, that BG scoreboard may start to smoke. 35 - 32 IU.

Meanwhile that loud thud you keep hearing is CMU falling back into reality. 33 - 3. Oooof.

RE: Central Michigan
BGSU going for 2 was a DUMB idea. Indy scored a TD then went up by 3, not 2. That can mean the difference.

BGSU now turn it over on downs around the 35 or so. We need BGSU to pull this out like a senior does with a freshman in the back of a limo on prom night.

How bad must Purdue be........how bad must we be.

This is pretty much the team that CMU will return next year, minus Walton. Yes they return a lot of players, but they're just not very good players.

Interesting. BG lost their QB and the next guy in looks just as good as Matt Johnson. Begs the question, if Terrell struggles, why not take a look at Thomas.

People really need to stop the A+B=C stuff. Every game is different and some teams are just bad matchups for other teams.

In this game for CMU with no Rawls they had no threat of a running game so Syracuse could just blitz non-stop and play coverage. If I am CMU I am hoping Rawls isn't done for the year and TD comes back soon or their great 2-0 start is gonna become a losing season very fast.
