How was that a pass int on Russell? Then no call on the shot to the head of Woodside?

RE: Toledo @ Cincinnati Game Thread
Well, it was certainly a better effort in the 2nd half, but a loss is a loss. Good news is we get a week off before we play Ball State. And whereas I thought this Cincy game was gonna be very important, it now pales in comparison to our first MAC game against a decent team that should have beat Iowa and has had Toledo's number in recent years. If Hunt is back, I like our chances, even with a D that is not very good. Woodside will have a few more practices under his belt and hopefully Detmer/holder/snapper can work out what has been an uncharacteristic FG unit so far this season. Really like what I've seen from Woodside. Just need to get more catches from his receivers and get Hunt healthy. We're going to need 30+ points a game to win in the MAC.

Juwan Haynes has been getting owned all night. Now their running back just blows right past him.

Woodside: 27/40, 323 yards and 3 TDs.

Not bad considering all the drops in the first half.

Mark Beier lamenting all the missed opportunities the Rockets had. They could have won this game.

563 total yards for the Rockets.

Shoot. I read the calendar wrong. We really could've used the bye week to help with any less severe injuries and to give Woodside more time with the receivers. If Hunt's not healthy I think we're gonna need a large dose of good luck against Ball State.

The secondary is terrible. I have seen better defense on a junior high team.

It must be the all Crown in me...truth serum. I've had a few teammates call sharing their thoughts as well...not very happy with the direction of the program. We have talent...not even close to maximizing it. Sadly, I feel it's going to be a really long year.

Seriously. Statistically, we don't look like nearly as bad as the score and first half indicated. http://espn.go.com/ncf/recap?id=400547659

I'm still in shock though.

RE: Toledo @ Cincinnati Game Thread
Third game of the season for the Rockets, first game for Cincinnati and UT is team that can't execute while Cincinnati is virtually flawless in the first half.

Note to self: Regardless of how much talent UT may have on the roster, NEVER AGAIN make any comments about team potential until such a time as the coaching staff proves beyond a reasonable doubt that they can stress execution and are able to help a team come close to achieving its potential. The 2000 team had less pure talent but their execution was nearly flawless whereas with this team the surprise is when a play is executed well. Also while piling on the coaching staff, is it also possible that this rash of injuries could be due to improper conditioning?---just wondering.

After watching the end of the Ball State/Iowa game, last week I think next week it will be interesting to see which coaching staff can contribute most to losing the game. Although a coaching staff can do many positive things with a team, just a few coaching flaws can be the difference between winning and losing and those are what are most noticed.

I have to give Toledo a ton of credit. It sure looked like a blowout and then almost immediately a 34-0 lead vanished. I was in shock.

Your defense buckled down and was really coming after UC in that 3rd quarter. And your offense is potent and creative.

Good Luck the rest of the year!
