Break out or Break down season
We have lived in the land of near misses for the past 5 years. Is this our breakout year or one where we break down. I get the feeling we are going up or down. I just can't get a bead on which.

So much will fall on QB play as it always seems to do in the MAC.

RE: Break out or Break down season
Rockets had a huge drop-off in production from the QB position since 2011. 2013's numbers were consistently #5 or 6 in the MAC, including passing 18 TD/9 Int output. That's with the OL being #1 in the nation giving up sacks. I think Rockets have seen the last of that.

RE: Break out or Break down season
IMHO this team has the highest potential going into the season than any team since the 2011 edition of the Rockets (which was TO's best year as a Rocket even while sharing QB duties). Unfortunately, that team was dogged by bad luck (poor officiating, injuries, questionable coaching decisions) and fell far short of its potential. Hopefully the stars are better aligned for this year's edition because I believe with a little luck this could be a very memorable year.

By all rights, the O-line should take a step back next year and since it all begins with the line on both O & D, that makes it all the more important for this team to make some hay this year when the sun should be shining more brightly on the Rocket's prospects than it has in a while.

The front 7 defensively could be the best the Rockets have had in years. The secondary is the question.

Offensively with the O-Line and the RB's the running game should be solid, hoping the passing game is more consistent.

The schedule provides 3 of the 4 toughest MAC games at home, with a non-conference schedule with solid opponents, but teams the Rockets should be able to compete against.

In my opinion, it all comes down to the NIU game. The Rockets are due for a division and conference championship. Need to beat the Huskies first.

Agree. Reservations about the secondary and need a slot receiver to step up big. Not worried about Zo or Olack...or the RB's.
