But but, those LaTech fans are worried about it because they say it's confusing and we'll lose our identity. LOL

What a joke. No offense to any of the other stadiums, but I can't take this list or criteria seriously if we're at eighth.

We rank the same as Arkansas....Pig fans will love that. I should go point this article to them.

I was a bit surprised as well. Did you read the criteria? Perhaps a down year or two recently caused the low ranking?

It seems fair enough.

Whoever puts more asses in the seats though will have the biggest advantage over their visitor.

I can't really argue with USA's ranking. We've let several games slip away from us the past couple years that we should have won. UTSA and Southern Utah come to mind. And of course losing by 1 point to Arkansas is thrown in there as well.

App went 2-4 at home last year and 4-3 the previous year. So in Steele's number-based algorithm, App doesn't have a great home field advantage, despite from 2003 to 2011, App only lost 5 game at home and 3 of those were playoff games in 2008. 2010 and 2011. There was a 30-game streak from 2003 to 2007 that was ended by I'M NOT GOING TO SAY WHO.

App needs to be ranked higher, everyone will figure that out sooner than later.

RE: Phil Steele's SunBelt Home Field Advantage Ranking
I can argue with Texas State's ranking. When we played Texas Tech? You bet, I'd say 5th works. When we played Wyoming last year? Yeah... Pretty reasonable.

But the rest of the season, I'd say we're way too high. I'd have put App above us for sure.

Now, we get on a roll and get home winning streak? Or if we are able to win against the Cajuns and stAte (on television for both) will get us into a 5th type range. But until we are packing the stadium (or at least 3/4ths full), we can't be that high.

It's math folks, if you don't like your number than your team should win more games at home. You could always adjust the formula, but it might not help your ranking. Its calculated on a short term, not long term.

RE: Phil Steele's SunBelt Home Field Advantage Ranking
The more I hear about Georgia Southern the more I like them. The fact that when it comes to home field advantage that they are ranked 3rd already when compared to other sunbelt members is amazing.

Georgia Southern fans do not take this the wrong way, but everything about the school screams underdog. From the name, to the jersey, to the town it is located in, but when bigger name schools start to underestimate thats when you bite them in the A$$. Including beating Florida last year, to home field advantage,

Same could be said for App State as well. I love the new additions to this Conference.

Hahaha. I was multi-tasking and totally didn't catch that. I'll sleep with one eye open tonight. Thankfully I'm in Alabama away from the majority of pig fans. Lol

We've had 39 and 37 game home winning streaks in our history. FBS will be tougher, but hopefully we can continue being a strong home team.

App will definitely move up the list over time.
