This is a "No ****, Sherlock" article. They don't want to give up money, have BYU take a spot in the playoff aka more money, and BYU can be difficult.

BYU does not have a clear access point to any premier bowls. How long can they tolerate that.

Personally I wouldn't want UCF in a conference with BYU. Closed minded university that thinks they are far bigger/better than they really are.

Yeah, need is probably a little strong for our side. It would be good for the conference, but I'm not sure if they are worth the headache.

They are certainly worth it football only. Great history and facilities to compete at the highest level. They've had a national championship and a heisman winner. Come on guys we would take BYU in a heartbeat. Especially if they would enhance our TV package renegotiation which they absolutely would. It's a win-win. They get access to premier bowls and we get a name brand team. I know ECU would be rocking when BYU comes to town (we have a 2 game series coming up with them)

The question is if and how long before they wake up and smell the coffee. What will be the final straw?

it was ridiculous that they were awarded the natty. they are the original boise state with a notre dame attitude. i wouldnt care to ever be in a conference with them.

I'd assume BYU would be on the table for a FB only invite--in that case, who would be the East Side addition to offset? Navy will be in the West when they join next year. I am not sure if BYU would be willing to do this for all sports but...

That is not true.

If BYU finishes in the Top 4 they'll be in the playoff and if they finish in the Top 12 they'll be in an Access Bowl. Things are different than the old BCS system where after the autobids were accounted for, bowls could select who they wanted within the Top 14 to fill one of the 10 major bowl slots.

CFP replacement is going to be accomplished by 4 team playoff participants, contract obligations and then by ranking. Its not going to be based on ticket sales or what conference you play in beyond the contract spots.

BYU is playing schedules that will put an undefeated team into Top 4 consideration if they go undefeated which is super unlikely however due to the quality of their schedules.

Having independents out there like BYU and Army isn't a bad thing for the AAC because it brings more pressure on the system to continue to reform, increase access and paydays.

NIU has a series with BYU in 18 & 20. Glad to have them on the schedule

If they go undefeated in 18 or 19 they're a very strong candidate for a top 4 spot

I had a Mormon friend years ago who wouldn't even drink a Coke, because they contain caffeine. However, from what I observed of his actions, fornication is ok. He was quite a whore-hopper.
