I wouldn't rule out Howland either.
And Underwood at SFA is a dark horse.

I could see Lawrence Frank at UT.
Was an assistant there in the 90s and isn't happy with the Nets.

Exactly. The public opinion is what matters, but not the public opinion of people who watch basketball. People who watch basketball are the ones that know that Haith is a mope.
I fought the good fight. I'm tapping out.

I don't know about Mizzou's coaching search, but UT's is starting to look heavily at White.

That might be a good one for them.

Haith's hiring looks good in the headlines and it's good for the league, as it is perceived as being a relatively big name hire. How that translates on the court is a different matter. I wouldn't want the guy, but each school has different challenges. Personally, I think they could have done better, but it would have meant finding a young guy who needed a stepping stone and Tulsa might be getting tired of that play. Looking for a new coach every 3 or 4 years can't be fun.

He's a dwarf of a man. I'd be surprised if he was 5'9" even. The times that I've spoken with him, he didn't seem that tall. Perhaps he fudges the numbers on the media guide just like the players.

They reported on the news tonight in Nashville, that White was "mulling it over."

It's all about name recognition? Hmmm, interesting. I thought it was about winning games, not the press conference...?

How do you know Haith won't win games there? Better yet, any coach in a particular situation? Name recognition and public perception are a big part of the hiring process for Tulsa. Obviously from what's been stated, the big boosters at Tulsa are fine with this hire. No need to continually think otherwise.

RE: Frank Haith heading to Tulsa
Some big name hires do not work.
Some work out great.
Louisville went with a big name to replace Crum. Final fours and a title.
ky went with a big name to replace Gillespie. Final Fours and a title.
Kansas went with a big name to replace Williams. Final Fours and a title.
North Carolina went with a big name to replace D'oh!! Final Fours and titles.
UCLA went with a big name to replace Howland- made Sweet 16 first year.
SD State went with a big name in their last hire.
No- not all big names work. And some under the radar names can be very successful too. But- sometimes big names are big names because they are good.
Alabama football did ok with it too.

First, let's be clear: we're talking about Frank Haith, not Larry Brown. Larry Brown is a big name that someone had to dust the cobwebs off of. Frank Haith has never really had any notable success, I doubt he can pass as a "big name".
But the proof is really in the pudding; how will he fare in this job? History seems to hint that he won't do well. Stay tuned though.
