Funny how most posters on here puffing their chest about the AAC's and UConn's outstanding victory are from ECU and ECU is not even in the conference until July 1.
Will you even be in the AAC?
we will show what we got come August. Count on it... are you cinncy fan?
If so please go sit back in your corner, you lost in the first round... and if you are Just wait till ECU pounds the pulp out of your fb team come this fall.
Cinncy also, If you hate being here GTFO... like haha seriously... there is a reason no one wants you... maybe cause you choke... We love the American it gives us unprecedented exposure,a team full of high class caliber...
Uconn loves being in the AAC, they chant it...
Cinncy hasn't done **** and their AD is already wanting out... If you can't do anything here, what makes you think you can in the p5

Whats this "we're" stuff? You guys are in CUSA until July 1st.
Isn't this the exclusionist attitude all of us have fought for so long? Why do our own people jump right on that band wagon like they've forgotten?

Don't cause there are some respectful ECU posters on here. I am just a student and am probably less tolerable to those who diss ECU

RE: AAC! AAC!
What I have found in SMU's first year in the AAC is that any respect you want must be EARNED first on the court/gridiron. Nothing will be given.
I've seen the fanbases from traditional basketball power programs (Louisville, UConn, Cincy, Memphis) look at SMU basketball and Larry Brown with skepticism at first, then a change to "hey they're not too bad" after we knocked off UConn in our first home game, and finally to "you guys got robbed not making the tourney" after a solid season taking games against Memhis/UConn/Cincy and playing LV tough.
I hope that the new teams come in with that attitude, and if so, I think they will be successful.

RE: AAC! AAC!
As a UC alumni, I see nothing but a bright future for the AAC - and I'm glad we're here. We have the opportunity to grow this conference into a power conference and be there when other teams beg to be invited.
There's a perception that the competition in a P5 is better and you get more repspect in the P5, but I don't see it. Yes there is the money but that can be resolved during the next round of TV negotiations - as long as the teams continue to win. What I see is that a few of the P5 schools carry the rest. We're new and we can write our own future.
Are West Virginia, Syrasue or Pitt any better off than when they were in the "old" Big East? Certainly not in football and they're not in the Final Four. We'll see how UofL does but it will be a challenge for them.
Overall, I'm pleased with the teams in the AAC - we have active, involved and energizeed fan bases. Some have a long history of success and the others will start their own. At the end of the first year in football and basketball - I'd give the AAC an A+, it could not have been better.

RE: AAC! AAC!
Lots of love for Uconn from the pirates, reasons why?
1.The big 4 ACC schools in NC (growing up in NC most not all, picked one of the 4 schools to pull for) ACC is all we have heard our whole lives and rightfully so, 11 national title for those team. (wake no titles) But they all have looked down on ECU due to conference affiliation. It is nice have some local respect due to the quality of our future conference.
There is a **** ton of ACC pride in NC, We are just spreading some American pride.
2.ECU spent 20 years as an independent before entering CUSA. We are not accustomed to having conference mates do well for themselves and raise the conferences national profile.
3.We get to host a team that made it to the final 4 next year in Greenville. Women's and Mens, that will turn a few heads in the triangle
Uconn has done it plenty times before, and will do it again, Im just glad we will be along for the ride and hopefully improve our programs along the way

Did you guys forget that UC was the only team to beat everyone in the American this season and a conference co-champion. Right now Cincinnati- UConn is the best basketball rivalry in the league. These teams have been going back and forth at high level for the last four to five years. Every time it looks like Cincinnati is going to pass the Huskies, UConn makes a late conference season run followed by a great tournament. UConn basketball is an elite brand that the ACC should have grabbed when they took Louisville. Right now the Bearcats and Huskies are by the far the best all sports brands in the league and its not even close.
hmmm well why dont cha just say so?
lol no i respect Cinncy, but having fans express their displeasure of being stuck here or your AD making public comments on getting out is not the way you should be behaving...
I promise you ECU is probably the most overlooked team in the country because of our State... There are 4 ACC schools who have time and time out shined us in everything we do... We finally get a break joining the AAC. We hate the CUSA, our fanbase and our teams were exhausted seeing teams like UAB and FAU on weekly basis.
Just give us 3 years in the AAC and ECU has been waiting for this opputunity for decades. The cameras, the espn exposure, the big team opponents...
btw Cinncy has nothing on UCF's and Uconn's accomplishments. ECU > UNC > Cinncy... this season... that's a bad logic but you guys need to be put where you belong atleast for this season.
The conference is growing everyday with exposure, do us a favor and stop bringing it down with asinine remarks... this is to your Fanbase and your admins at in your respective sports
Temper the excitement buddy, we basically escaped the C-USA cellar dwellers to form the new league with the higher performing portion of C-USA, Tulane excepted, and a sprinkling of teams from the old Big East. Yeah, the league looks good thus far, but damn, we've been playing most of these teams for years and we've been playing "big team" opponents for years too. Relax, and give the Bearcats a break too, in basketball we aren't even close. And in football we're hopefully on par.
Not saying you are or are not saying so, but the current teams that have transitioned from CUSA to the AAC are very different then 10,5 or even 3 years ago. New investments, new commitments, new coaches, new everything. It frustrates me when people just throw around CUSA 3.0, these schools are in a far different position across the board and the analogy is not accurate.

Danny Manning May be on his way out. Would be a tough blow to Tulsa and to a lesser one to the AAC
Jeff Goodman @GoodmanESPN
Wake Forest is looking at Tulsa coach and former Kansas star Danny Manning, sources told ESPN:

RE: AAC! AAC!
There are two types of ECU fans, ones that have their favorite ACC school to pull for during basketball season and then the ones, like myself, that have refused to pull for anyone but ECU and don't watch "BCS" games both in football and in basketball and I would rather poke my eyes out rather than to watch a Duke/UNC game.
I haven't watched so much college basketball as I have this season now that ECU is in a legit basketball conference and my college basketball exile IS OVER. So Hell yes...GO AAC!!
