Question for Y'all
I was thinking about posting an introductory thread on the AAC site with a lot of information about the city/area, people and the university and history of the school. A sort of "glad to be here and this is who we are" kind of thing.
I know some of you read that board a lot and since you do, maybe give me your opinions of how it would be received. I want to make a good first impression. Most of you are good fans, unlike some on rivals are respectful and probably have a good feel for how it would be received.
Since posting this stuff is sort of a hobby of mine I thought I needed some feedback since I have done very little on the AAC site. I would never do something like this on rivals for obvious reasons. But since most of us are new to the AAC and vice versa, I think it would be positive to start off the conference "postings" in the right way - not as a flamer or basher, but as loyal TU fans who will be a valuable asset to the league.
I value your opinions. Thanks.

RE: Question for Y'all
A great idea since a number of the AAC fans know very little about Tulsa. As long as it's done in an informative format, not just all bragging, I think it would be received in a positive manor. I think most of the fans would be amazed at our football bowl games......I know most of them probably think we just started playing big time football 10 or 20 years ago. Our Heisman Trophy runner ups........by the way, it seemed like most of the press were amazed Rhome didn't win the Heisman Trophy.....instead it went to a Notre Dame QB who hadn't done anything compared to Rhome. I actually watched a Tulsa game in Skelly Stadium when, between Rhome and the Tulsa team, they broke 23 NCAA records.....I don't believe anyone will be able to say that again.......of course a number of those records were records that Tulsa already had set that year.

Honestly, I don't know how it will be received. There are some good posters & some bad posters on there. There are some who are arrogant, imo. If it was me, I would wait a week, until the UMASS talk calms down. Also, remember that only UCONN, Cincinnati, Temple & USF are new for Tulsa.

Thanks folks. I think I will do it, but do as fanzz suggests and wait a little while. No hurry. My thinking is that a lot of the eastern schools don't know much about the city and the school, so it might be a way to show them we aren't a bunch of country hicks or rednecks.

I agree with what's been said... It might be well received by some but be prepared for a lot of ill will and all around rudeness from UC, UCONN and UCF fans.
I for one am really excited for what's to come in our new conference. I can't wait to see how the upgrade (in every possible area) will help our athletic programs. Hopefully the haters will warm up to us (remember this happened to us when we joined C-USA too).
