RE: UMass leaving the MAC
So, are they going back down? Or are the C-USA/Sun Belts of the world taking them in?

Hasn't been announced yet. It's all speculation right now. Some people are saying FCS. Some say C-USA. Some say independent.

So much for the Boston TV market... Would be interesting if they go to FCS... UMass goes FCS and Eastern stays as it is? Strange times indeed...

RE: UMass leaving the MAC
They only stayed in the MAC for a "Minute"
Thanks, tip you waitress, I'm here all week!
Btw, too bad their historically short stay in the MAC (with a wonderful record of 2-22 so far) has a win over Western as one of the few "W's" in its books.
Ok, so you were recruited by UMASS... now what?

They do? We beat them in 2011 and 2013.

RE: UMass leaving the MAC
Suddenly UMass ranks as one of my least favorite teams.
If they end up joining a solid AAC Conference, I'm going to puke.
Like Temple, UMass thinks their whole athletics - including football - are too good for the MAC which obviously didn't show for Temple or UMass. If they're going to act like that, might as well send them back to FCS because no one's going to take them back in D1 football.

If they do, it's because of basketball.

We didn't play them in 2011... and they weren't MAC members until 2012. Their only win in 2012 was Akron. They beat us in 2013 for their only win, giving them a total record of 2-22 as MAC members, with their only two wins over MAC teams. We creamed them them in 2012 but (as everyone remembers) they beat us in the last second last year at Foxborough... As MAC members, they're 1-1 against us and Akron.
We can file all that under, "way too much information about UMass football"

Well in that case lets get Gonzaga, Dayton, Villinova, Xavier, St. Boneventure, Georgetown, and other bball schools into the BCS.

yeah, we beat them last year. That was OUR only win. Although they probably should have beaten us at the last second, they missed the 2 point conversion
