Bottom line:

As a fan (this year), when you see ECU go down 1 to nothing early in a game and unlike in years past you believe the game is over at that point, and you're right, it's time for a change.

Personally, I've wanted to give BG the benefit of the doubt, but having watched what we did last season very closely, it doesn't take an entire season this year to see that we are headed right down the same road. Maybe we turn it around going into conference play, who knows, but it's looking like last year all over again.

The KL classic this weekend will say a lot about the Pirates moving forward. Go 3-0 or 2-1 and the season might be alright.

Go 1-2 or 0-3 in your own home field classic that we use to rule on a yearly basis and it's time for somebody to hit the bricks.

Don't worry, you still have us on the schedule.

Our staff has beaned 16 batters already this season.
Teams are 20/24 stealing bases against us.
We have a starting pitcher with a 0.77 ERA and .079 OPP BA whose record is 0-0.
Three of our main relievers have ERAs over 8.00, two of them are over 12.00.
Our team BA is .245.

You've faced elite pitching in three games. ULL has a very good team but pitching is not their forte, at all. We've scored more because we've faced worse pitching and been walked and hit way more.

Your team has walked and hit 28 batters this year. Our staff walked and hit 21 batters in a doubleheader! Our Sunday pitcher has hit more batters in eight innings than your whole staff.

Holy God...look at the defense, though. Both are awful but I give us the edge in incompetency thanks to the fact that teams have swiped 20 bases in 24 attempts.

There's no comparing schedules here. We've faced three gimme games against absolutely awful teams--and another that should have been a gimme but we lost.

We're worse!! We will win this race to the bottom!! You will respect our suckiness.

By the way, I enjoy the ever-evolving thread name. If you guys managed to get the #FireGodwin hashtag off the ground, that might be a first for college baseball.

ECU beats WKU 2-1 in 10 innings...Hoffman goes 8 innings and has 14 K's and gets a no decision.

Slumping would imply there's a reason to expect it to turn around. I'm not convinced there is.

seriously doubt we'll be like this for a full 56 game season........so yes.....I'm calling this a "slump" and believe the hitting will improve as the season progresses......especially as the weather warms....

Took care of WKU in a tight game that came down to the last inning.

Will we average 1 to 2 runs for the year? I would hope not, but will we continue to be completely useless against any quality pitcher we face? Yes I'd almost guarantee it.

ECU takes out Pitt. 2nd decent win in a row but still a long way to go for BG to save his job.

Well the double header goes 1-1.

Our offense almost pulled us out of it in game 1 but both teams went through tons of pitchers.

Game 2 was a lowly 1-0 win by the Pirates.

Well, took Tulane series 2-1 in a dominating performance in game 3 winning 13-3 and having game called on game 3 CUSA rule about 10 run lead.
