And I think he had to wait until after his tour of duty (Vietnam). Mccallum played while he was still active in the service. It's tough for those guys.

Believe Staubach did have to wait.
Army made a special exception and allowed a player to go directly to the NFL @ 6 to 8 years ago.

Our MO has been to lose one we should have won and win one we should have lost. We tend to play to the level of our competition hopefully that holds up as the competition is definitely better. As many have pointed out depth and intensity will be the key to the season, the injuries we saw this year forced alot of guys to get experience and allowed others another year, so some silver lining there. I also think us seeing similar offenses week in and week out will help us adjust, whereas, others will see our TO once or twice a year. Even at UF we'd get a 4 yd run and both sides would cheer, until they realized that's what we do, over and over again. If we can avoid the injury bug, especially at B-Back and QB we'll be ok. I agree with most on where we'll finish, so 5-7 to 7-5 I'll take, and yes NCSU is that bad, regardless I'll be in Blue in Raleigh. As I live in TX, away games will be closer than home games, so I look forward to our first Sun Belt tour next year, especially down in San Marcos. We hope to within the first 2-4 years see a game at all the Sun Belt Stadiums. So ready or not Sun Belt here we come and we're bring an old foe with us, 'cause we just can't stand not to have each other to hate.

Bout what I expected on this thread. Seems like most are in the 5-7 to 7-5 range with lunatic fringe on either side of that. I will say the team that played the last three games was much better than it had been throughout the entire season and things on both sides of the ball were coming together finally. The good thing about it is recruiting is going better after the UF win and getting all those medical redshirts back especially probably the best player on the team back is going to be great. The team that takes the field 2014 will be better than the team that finished up 3-0 at the end of 2013. I have no doubt about that. I think it is going to be a crazy roller coaster ride for the next three years. I am sure the declarations of our certain demise and dominance will change from week to week as it is law on message boards.

Let the HYPERBOLE GAMES begin!!!

Lunatic fringe.

Put me in that group because we will do AT LEAST 5-3 in SBC next year. Remember this name Dominque Swope.

Looks like @ a 9 and 3 season.

Way I looked at it, this is a thread started by a GaSo fan to see how well they will do next year.
Those that tell GaSo they will have a poor record, they would be happy to prove you wrong.
If you say they will be undefeated for the next twenty years, they cannot live up to those expectations, so they don't meet them. So my prediction of 9-3. Something conceivable, but highly unlikely. So they don't meet their/our expectations. Not our fault. Win/win situation. Rivals can be so cruel...even in a nice way.

Who has the weakest 2014 schedule in FBS?

Ga Southern has to be up there. I don't say this to offend anyone on our schedule, but I just don't see anyway we don't win 4 games next year. I can see arguments for 7 or more wins. My way too early prediction is 6-6.

Weakest schedule with Navy, Ga. Tech and N.C. State on it?

I'm not saying our's is the weakest in fbs. I'm just curious where everyone thinks it stacks up. Tech is good... everyone else is somewhere between awful and average. I can't think of a schedule that is clearly weaker than ours off of the top of my head.

I'm not an expert on Ga. Southern but I would guess 3 to 4 wins with that schedule. The Florida win was great but I just don't see a team that went 7-4 in FCS play replicating that amount of wins with a full FBS schedule the next year.

I think Texas State has the weakest again. Playing all three on the road hurts GSU.

ULM has the toughest schedule. Whose bright idea was it to schedule 3 SEC teams in the same season?

If we don't have another record setting season of injuries Ill think we will be ok.

With that said, if we continue to be plagued with injury then I definitely could see a 3 or 4 win season.

EDIT: FWIW this is not me saying we will steamroll the SBC. I just think we will be competitive in every game we play. I think we will have 3 or 4 one score games that will determine where we finish between 8-4 and 4-8.

Who besides you thinks GSU will only win 3 games? Most GSU fans believe we will be at .500.

This past year was an odd one for the team. GSU played well below expectations, but still came within a handful of plays of being 10-1. Injuries and tinkering with the offense were 2 of the biggest issues, but a lack of focus and fumblitis also contributed. I just don't see it happening 2 years in a row.

Guess you're more focused on what your favorite team is going to do to replace Connor Shaw.

If we play to potential, .500 next year is definitely achievable, with several more wins a possiblity as well. Can't expect someone who isn't really a fan to see that though.
