UL is great...make a weekend of it. Stay at the Seelbach Hotel.

Looking forward to going to ECU.

Stayed there a couple of times. Supposed to be haunted.
In conference only been to Ville and Memphis. Both are good trips.

Well there ya go... most people go back to the tailgates or across the river into Hartford and go out to the bars! UConn students live spread out for like 18 miles between Hartford and Storrs, so yeah campus is not the center of life - especially not when you're not in classes.

RE: Best Stadium experience in the AAC?
We are constantly trying new things to improve the game day experience. I hope the Tunnel that the team runs out of can get improved, right now we have no tunnel because the supports that holds it down broke and they cost about 15-20K to replace. I would like a more permanent structure. We had a Pirate Ship when Skip was here but it had to be removed. You cant go wrong with some Purple Haze. We have Lots of Videos and we have something called No Quarter to start the 4th quarter. I unfortunately have not been able to experience any other conference away games. Its just home games and some select local away games for me. If anyone hasnt been to Greenville and experienced an ECU game please come. Tailgating is great, Great BBQ ( Must check out B's) make sure you get there before noon, and hot women. Whats not to like?

The tailgates were nothing to write home about, so we tried to go find something else. Oh well, not too worried about it, won't go back regardless.

RE: Best Stadium experience in the AAC?
During CUSA days (I'm a Bearcat fan) I traveled for football to:

ECU, great environment, food, fans... great experience. UC was something like 4 - 12 lifetime vs. ECU and I am happy to say I saw a win for the Bearcats.

Memphis (never for basketball only for FB), despite small attendance in the Liberty Bowl the fans are knowledgeable and hospitable... some great pregame tailgating and although some ECU fans have raved about the BBQ I think Memphis might be the FLAGSHIP for Q.

TCU/Fort Worth, *(&^^$^&&& Froghorn is (*^%## obnoxious. It's even worse than hearing "Rocky Top" 8 gajillion times at TN

Tulane, absolutely dead but who desn't love Nawlins?

Southern Miss, Gulf coast is close. They might not have invented Football but they invented hitting ask any of their fans (LOL). But I had a lot of fun.

Louisville (also been there during BE days), 1st as a Bearcat fan I'm obigated to say Louisville sucks! But it's a great venue with a very passionate fan base. I know they are like 90 minutes away but both in CUSA and the BE they have brought more fans to Nippert than any other opponent except possibly WVU.

From BE days:

Rutgers, I parked at some local church lot that gave tax deductible certificates for the $10 parking fee and I could walk to the stadium. Their fight song rah rah Rutgers is weak. Coolest thing about the experience was seeing Eric Legrande bring the team out and being in a stadium that is historical. The Cannon crew in colonial gear along with the mounted Knight are nice touches.

Louisville (see above)

USF, you're better off attending a Buccaneers game in my opinion.

You must have went around 2003 or 2004. I remember playing UC in Greenville on a cold winter night on ESPN and you guys absolutely killed us. It doesnt help when you possibly had the worst head coaching hire in the history of head coaches literally ruining your program with every game. ( JUST DONT SAY HIS NAME) Glad to be back in the same conference with Cincy. We had some good games with you guys and you definitely have improved since the last time we played.

No worries I know it was an honest mistake. Just happens to be two very different genres of music.

Just for 01-rivalss and giggles, here is a video of ECU entering the stadium to Purple Rain.

In your opinion, what is the best stadium facility and/or experience? I was thinking of Cincy, Tulane, and maybe Houston's new stadium.

Might be a little tough to evaluate since some of us are new to each other.

Having been to games at Houston, Tulane, ECU, USF, and Tulsa, I would easily give the nod to ECU. Great fan support and venue. Purple Haze is one of the best intros around, IMO. Naturally I will have to revisit UH and Tulane when their new stadiums are open. Tulsa actually has a beautiful campus, and even though it's small, I thought the stadium was rather nice. It's unfortunate the community doesn't support them better. It's difficult to give an unbiased view of USF's "experience" since both of our games over there were so........forgettable.

Road trips to Nippert and Annapolis are high on my list of priorities, along with seeing UH and Tulane's new digs. Eventually I would like to make my rounds throughout the entire league. I'm still kicking myself for not going up to Louisville.

You guys really sold me on an ECU trip.

Went to the UF game against Arkansas a few weeks back to check out their MBA program... smelt like gator piss and mold so i wanted to check out the new digs in the AAC

I'm biased... but ECU has a big-time stadium atmosphere and experience.

The football doesn't always live up to it, but we're working on that.

Both times I've seen UCF come to dowdy the atmosphere was remarkable. You really need to come next time. It's a game the fans really get up for (I mean they get up for all of them but I have good memories from the UCF games).

Reminds me of this video from the UCF game a couple years ago..... the odd thing is we don't really play this song at games (since i've been going in '09/watching on TV for years).........so it was kind of crazy to hear everyone singing.

University of Cincinnati night game. The excitement is fantastic, the noise level is deafening, the student sections is awesome, You feel like you are right on top of the field.

RE: Best Stadium experience in the AAC?
When you're losing as badly as UConn is losing, the stadium experience is going to suffer. That being said, they had a great tailgate and atmosphere against Michigan.

Back a couple years ago, this is what people had to say: Jon Robinson: Another cool thing they have in the game is the atmosphere from the crowd, where they're cheering wildly for the home team, while making it tough on the road teams to call audibles with all the crowd noise. When you were at Baylor, what was the toughest place for you to play in terms of crowd noise?

Robert Griffin III: The thing that people think is when you go to these big stadiums and they have 80,000 people or 100,000 people, that these are the toughest stadiums to play at, but really, those aren't. When you have that many people, most of the time, the fans are pretty far away from the field. The toughest places to play are the ones that are jam-packed, are really tight to the field, and sit about 45,000 people. When we played at UConn my freshman year, that was the loudest place I've ever been as a football player. The stands are right next to the field, it was packed, and everyone was yelling. That was probably the coolest place for me to play at aside from Texas, Texas A&M, and Nebraska.

The cold winter night game was a Friday and Logan's last year I believe. It was the game that caused the HS coach boycott of ECU.

UConn was absolutely terrible...I can't stress that enough. Nothing about that experience made me want to go back.

It's funny. No one ever seems to say UConn's stadium experience is "Okay." People either love it or hate it. I guess it depends on the game/atmosphere.

I vote Cinci for best atmosphere of the places I've attended. I'm looking forward to taking plane, trane, and automobile to get to ECU's stadium in the next few years as well.

Dude it was 31-7 Cincinnati at the half for that game. You expected the crowd to be into the game??? 04-cheers

Rutgers almost lost that game by 40 points!
