UCF - Jumped by Michigan State. Moved up in both polls but the computers didn't care for a 62-17 win I guess. Oh well. Just keep winning and hopefully the rest takes care of itself.

Louisville - Moves down in Coaches. Stays the same in Harris. I guess a lesser margin of victory over USF is worth more in the eyes of the computers.

They don't want us there, we're too new and not part of the club.

UConn was winless. I mean, did you expect a huge jump?

Louisville has a lot more "style" points in their other wins. UCF struggled against Memphis and Penn State. We need to put away opponents convincingly. This sucks for our style, since we are a time of possession, heavy rushing offense

Just Win!

Beat Houston!

These rankings are a joke. Against Akron and Uconn, UCF won by a combined 76 points while Michigan won by 7. We beat PSU and Michigan lost to them. We have the same record, our only lost to a top 15 team by 3. WHAT THE FCK.

UCF is better than Louisville. Not an opinion, an undisputsble fact proven on the field.

This system is garbage.

Michigan is ahead of UCF...How?? They lost to penn state who UCF beat, and barely won against Uconn who UCF dominated!

BS!!!!! Michigan state wasn't even ranked top 25 last week and they jump UCF? They went from 29 to 22? bull****!

And UL...UCF beat them in their house and they move up a spot because the beat USF, yet UCF doesn't move after destroying UCONN?

UCF polls in AP and coached improved yet not the BCS?

While my team deserves to be ranked you guys should be higher, both MSU and UCF are ranked lower than they should be in my opinion, both should definitely be ranked higher than Old Boys Club Michigan and UCLA...

Also, our Penn State win took a huge hit with the blowout loss to Ohio State.

No, no, no, you misread my post. I'm not sleeping on UH at all. I think they are a great team. I should have highlighted the part in the other post about our "style points". We have been roasted every week since game 1 regarding our margin of victory or loss. At the start of the season there was a thread here about if UofL should run up the score on every conference team. That is what I am laughing about. The "style point" comment. That is all.

RE: UCF stays at #23, Louisville moves to #19
There are some confused comments thus far in the thread. For one, each and every year you will find teams rated ahead of a team they have lost to head-to-head.

As well, while the focus is always on the position rank, if you're really following your team you should pay just as much if not more attention to the actual numbers.

For example, the BCS compilation does not care that UofL dropped from 16th to 17th in the Coaches Poll. The number that matters is the vote total, where UofL improved from 571 last week to 579 this week. UCF basically doubled there from 151 to 300.

Harris Poll, UofL went from 1,046 votes to 1,056. Again, a minimal gain. UCF improved from 238 to 502.

Computers, UofL dropped from 28th to 29th. UCF dropped from 19th to 23rd. As Armored mentioned, the Knights 2nd best win, PSU, was absolutely destroyed 63-14. So thank the Fighting Sandusky's for that one. As for performance yesterday, I don't know why a fan from either school would think the computers or pollsters would be super impressed. Both teams took their opponent to the woodshed, but on paper UofL beat a 2 win team on the road by 31. UCF won by 45, but it was a home game over a winless team. You don't get respect doing that in the Big East/AAC.

Put all of that together and as expected, UofL very modestly improved from .2556 to .2599. Thanks to large gains in poll totals (2/3's of BCS total) UCF has a significant jump from .1394 to .1789. Since the main obsession seems to be comparing UofL and UCF, the Knights made up around 30% of the gap between the schools. Due to movement around the schools UofL moved up 1 position and UCF stayed 23rd. The take-away again though is that UCF drew closer, as opposed to UofL widening the gap.

LMAO

I started that thread in Week1
http://csnbbs.com/showthread.php?tid=647533

It's apart of the BCS system, we have seen the value in running up the scores.

I think I will choose to say style points from here on out 03-shhhh

But yea, the style points have helped Louisville in the rankings. This is just more proof.
