I'm more concerned about Fresno and NIU. They haven't played anyone close to the caliber of South Carolina or Louisville, but they've got the higher ranking.

It doesn't matter this year, but it will in 2014. We play Missouri, and neither Fresno nor NIU plays anyone close to that caliber next year either.

The best school Fresno beat is/was Rutgers at home in overtime...a school that Houston rolled in New Jersey...you have a point.

The difference is the American has a pair of schools in the top 25 and Houston sitting just outside... Pollsters fear the repercussions of moving two many schools from one of the smaller conferences... it's okay to give each one a free pass... but two or three... yikes... so as long as the three keep winning they'll hover around #'s 18-30. If one or two lose, then you'll see the third spike up a bit likely ahead of Fresno and NIU.
