Yes that 6 overtime game is historic, but I tend to believe it wouldn't matter where the game was played if UNC and Duke or Syracuse or any big name teams played a 6 overtime game it would still be famous in the same way whether it was in NYC or Greensboro.

The Big East Quarterfinal game was on ESPN Primetime (UConn/Cuse 6OT). Aren't ACC Quarterfinal Games played on ESPN2. As I remember the BE was a day ahead and tended to overshadow the ACC games.

It won't be a problem now as ESPN should pimp the crap out of the ACC during tourney time. NBE is with FOX and the ACC is a shell of itself and will get worse after UL leaves this year.

You say the ACC was overshadowed, I say that playing on Saturday felt small-time compared to ending it on Sunday right before the selection.

Too me Sunday is anti-climatic unless a team is in the Finals which could take a slot away from a bubble team. Too each his own.

Saturday night in New York City felt "small-time" as compared with Sunday afternoon in Greensboro, NC? I guess I'll have to take your word for that...for now. I'll be much better qualified to discuss this issue by the middle of next March.

New York City feels bigger than Greensboro (I'd still vote Greensboro if I was in the league, but I'm a huge traditionalist), but Sunday feels bigger than Saturday to me (definitely biased though).

The P12, B12 and BE have their championship games on Saturday. The ACC, SEC and B10 had theirs on Sunday. I think that was more of a TV decision than a conference one. The ACC has traditionally had theirs on Sunday.

RE: Cuse AD Dr. Gross Talks ACC
For years the ACC finals were played on Saurday night.
The tournament played 4 games on Thurdsay, 2 on Friday night and the Championship on Saturday night.
When the ACC got the offer to play on national TV if the game was moved to Sunday afternoon......they took the money.

Here were the Big East ratings.

Here were the ACC ratings:

TV ratings for 2013
Big East tourney 2.1
ACC tourney 1.6

New York is the number 1 media market in the US where as Greensboro is 46. If the ACC is going to launch a TV network then it would be best to get a bit more publicity. I realize people are not really used to getting things moved out of North Carolina but isn't it better to make more money by doing what you can to promote the product (I.e. the ACC TV network). Sometimes I don't get some people who complain about not getting extra money for their schools but when the ACC tries to do something to increase their revenues they are set against it. Sometimes you have to make tradeoffs and if this is one then either do it and take the money or don't complain about not getting enough revenues.

I think Saturday Night at Madison Square Garden SCREAMS PRIMETIME!!!!! ...and I also like the small "everybody can attend" vide of Greensboro (sunday is a day of rest/golf and NFL only).05-nono

But If it's about BRANDING and Marketing against the $ec and the BiG, then WE NEED NYC!!!
