Here's a real question that I have. Why is it that when people show negative statistics about white people they tend to differentiate between "those" people and "regular" whites? If it's a negative statistic on drug usage, the presenters break their backs to make sure it's known that it's "lower class whites". If it's about crime, it's "lower class whites". When it's about black people it's just "blacks".

I'd like to see the negative statistics used in the other thread and compare middle, upper, and lower class black people.

I think you are missing the point of all this. People wouldn't be pointing out statistics in the black community if members of the black community weren't publicly trying to blame all their problems on whites. The Zimmerman case brought all this to the surface.

That's a fair question.

Several years ago, Bill Bennett crunched all kinds of demographic data and came up with a very simple rubric for avoiding long-term poverty.

Said if you did these three things, you were just about guaranteed to avoid long-term poverty, and your odds of experiencing it went up with each one you failed to do, pretty much guaranteeing you would if you missed all three.

They are:

1. Graduate high school.
2. Marriage before children.
3. Reach your 21st birthday before you marry.

Seems pretty straightforward, no? How different might America be a generation from now if we started (and I mean the collective "we") started hammering this point from every direction starting today?

I tend to think that's the way to go. Myself, my parents, and my grandparents have all done this and have had generally good success.
