this isn't a news sports report, it is a human interest story, a fluff piece, written by the Titan's beat writer to fill inches because the titans are a dumpster fire right now, and he has to write something about the NFL. I'm sure there will be plenty written about the super bowl brothers and their family life in every paper in America. It doesn't mean western gets coverage there either.

Wyatt did a similar article. Congrats to Western on getting an article. It only took the biggest game of the year in any sport.

Wait a minute. They beat the defending Stanley Cup champs last night :). Of course, it ended around midnight.

RE: Article in Tennessean about Harbaugh/WKU
I went and checked the news providers in the two largest cities in Kentucky and WKU is nowhere to be found. Hell, one of them even has the Hoosiers on there.
The only place that appears to care about WKU is the direct city of Bowling Green and Murfreesboro is 70% larger. Why are we even still having this conversation. Western is not relevant in any semi-decent size media markets. I don't understand why Western fans want to keep bringing this up. It was a good article. Should have just pasted the article and let the smart ass commentary ride.
Can we get back to the subject at hand regarding how Western BB is in the dumpster right now MT is tied for the sixth most wins the nation??

When you get called the "Cash Cow" of your conference, or, when you win a NC2A tournament game, then come back and talk to me Junior, otherwise, tell your AD to just return that check he gets every year from the conference that has been fattened up by this "dumpster" school!

no my d!ck's bigger! wow. even I find this petty. nice write up though.
as for bg being the only city that cares about wku sports: why are all mbb games carried in Louisville? why does the big red radio net work go from the ohio river to music city, and the land between the lakes to the foothills of Appalachia and all point in between? WKU may not have beat writers in Nashville, but we get plenty of love. listen to 1045... and Louisville and Lexington? whatever....
since when did an above .500 team become a dumpster by middle standards? wku sucks but I think a wheelchair would be a more accurate location of our program than a dumpster. a dumpster is mtsu post season winning percentage in the past 20 years....

Interesting and somewhat amusing. The Sun Belt gets an automatic bid thus that money is guaranteed regardless of which team in the conference makes the tournament.
The 2008 season is really the only one where WKU has provided significantly higher amounts of money above and beyond what the league would get anyway, as a result of your Sweet 16 season (that was a good run BTW) which provided each member of the conference an extra $45,000 but that credit expires after this year, so the Belt will need another good run (maybe we can leave the conference a present). There's also an extra $23,900 from the '09 season distributed to each member.
So, that cash cow that you claim to be has lined the MT coffers by about an extra $69,000 per year in four out of the past five years. Like I said, maybe we can leave you guys a financial gift on our way out this year and pay you back those massive sums of money that's helped keep our athletics afloat.

Eh, we "provided" 2 more shares last year. But who's counting?

I think what you meant to say is that you provided one more unit than the league was guaranteed and that too would be false.
The following game played after a "play-in" game does not count as an additional unit.
