kk

Just speculating but in the Big East, Boise would get only a football share while in the MW they would get a full share...plus the increased travel costs and Big West subsidy in the Big East. Not saying they should be wavering but this might be the rational.

That's exactly what it would be. Shows how desperate Wyoming and the rest are.

So be it.

you have no clue what the deal says and what the MWC is offering. Sorry your school is on the Boise leash. that has to hurt

What has to hurt even more is that the league your team belongs to is having to bend over backwards to try to get Boise back. Tells you w desperate the league is.

The MWC isn't going to provide this to Boise. They can move on.

Now that I've thought about it, I'm completely in your camp.

Let Boise turn the MWC or the Big East into its' own private Idaho. Having thought it over, I'm as disgusted with their lack of integrity as you are.

This is going to be really interesting when it all ends up with Boise staying in the Big East. The NBE will definitely have rivalries now. It will be weird being in a conference where UH is not the most hated. Everyone in CUSA were gunning for us. Fun times.

ECU, Marshall, Southern Miss, Rice, Tulsa, UAB. We caught it from all sides on the CUSA boards.

Maybe UConn should demand to keep its TV rights for BB.

They have already, it's called having football only members who don't get to play uconn or get any $ from the b ball contract

Boise is just doing what everyone is doing, including your school: trying to maximize its revenue. No shame in that.

Boise is over shooting the leverage they have built by burning every bridge in the process.

Maybe so, but if true that is something for Boise fans to worry about not anyone else.

RE: ESPN: Boise State Eyes TV rights
What Boise is trying isn't unprecedented, but different circumstances. When ECU was independent in the 90's we had an exclusive ESPN deal. When CUSA wanted us as football only we were allowed to keep our ESPN deal and essentially had our home rights. By going to CUSA for all sports, a mistake I thought at the time and still do, CUSA ended up on ESPN and our deal got folded into the league deal. That's when ESPN came up with the ghetto Tuesday, Wed., and Friday football which caused CUSA to exit that deal at the end of the contract. Some programs like that exposure, but we didn't and our AD insisted that we would at least never agree to host one of those games ever again. Boise is one bad coaching hire from obscurity.

And why would that be given that you are inferior to us in every way but fan support?

Are you talking about that 7-5 football record we have against you including the CUSA title game beating you got or is it your baseball program not being as good as ours?

Plenty of folks out west are willing to play them every season, including BYU. They've built a legitimate brand and frankly, I'm pretty jealous. They've made all the right moves except building a proper stadium over the years. This is their end game.

To be honest this could be the first step towards ALL schools retaining their rights. Kind of like the court case that allowed conferences to retain their rights instead of the entire NCAA.

Boise State has done many great things, but no way they could go indy. There isn't the national following that BYU enjoys. BYU has barely been able to put a schedule together since embarking on their venture. BSU will find it even tougher.

Besides, let's all remember that any Gof5 school NEEDS TO WIN A CONFERENCE to be eligible for a major bowl game.

Sorry if i sounded snarky but was just trying to point out that Boise is doing what they think is best for themselves and since everyone else is doing the same there is no cause for complaint.

Very true. But I'd rather see Boise go Indy than go back to the MWC!

Exactly my point. Being a Gof5 is better than being an indy for anyone but Notre Dame. You think BYU will ever get to a major bowl with anything more than zero losses? In fact, I could see a scenario where, even an undefeated BYU team gets shut out, if the pollsters and "selection committee" say something about it.
