RE: TULANE TO THE BIG EAST IN ALL SPORTS!!
The ball is now in the ACC's court. They have 11 teams going forward.

The B1G has 14. The SEC has 14. Will the ACC follow suit? If so, wouldn't they go ahead and take Louisville, Cincy, and UConn to make 14?

If so, wouldn't that leave the Big East with 10 football members? So they would need two more teams at least. Also, does anyone think San Diego State and Boise State are going to stay with the BE for the long term? That could trim them to 8. Eventually, the Big East will come calling on USM and UAB, and we will go because the old C-USA partners are better than the Sunbelt partners in general.

>>> Sounds logical to me

>>>> Maybe, however the Big East basketball schools may decide to split from the football playing schools leaving several teams with no option except to form a new league. New League means no existing bowl tie ins or money, no automatic qualifiers in basketball, etc.

I understand the knocks toward BE's relevance compared with the league's past stature. What I don't understand is the assumption that UAB wouldn't join the league if invited. I suppose there's a valid argument to be made that UAB can now dominate (or, at least, it should) the C-USA.

Heck, let's shoot for the moon & join the ACC instead.

I'd actually prefer that.

The ACC has 13 with the additions of Pitt and Syracuse. There will be a 14th team, and it will be either Louisville or Connecticut.

What about Tulsa? I know the market isn't there but they are relatively successful.

My concern is how we are viewed nationally in regards to our struggles with our own System (BOT). Apparantly, we don't even have their support.

I would think USM, Tulsa, and Rice would get a look before UAB.

I'm afraid so. Gene Bartow has to be turning over in his grave.

Maybe not...don't sleep on the possibility of the Big 12, SEC, and Big 10 feasting on the ACC & Big East simultaneously first.

RE: TULANE TO THE BIG EAST IN ALL SPORTS!!
The moves by ECU and Tulane have basically put the writing on the wall for UAB and USM fans. We are stuck in a league that is going no where quickly. In 2015 if we add 4 schools and loose no more we will look like this....

East

UAB
USM
Marshall
FIU
Old Dominion
Charlotte
Western Kentucky (???)
Georgia State (???)

West

Tulsa
UTEP
UTSA
North Texas
La Tech
Rice
Idaho (???)
New Mexico State (???)

That is pretty awful if you ask me...and that's assuming we don't lose anyone else.

What is the buyout now? Should be practically nil for Tulane as they have no post-season money to forfeit.

The only school we would consider adding out the four you mention is Western Kentucky. And C-USA will never grow to 16 teams. I feel pretty certain about both of those.

It would suck more for the Big East schools.

If teams are added, I suspect Western Kentucky would be first & MTSU 2nd.

Like mentioned, we could stay at 12 members instead until raided again.

I hope people still don't think the BE will actually die, we're just getting left out and will be with the FIU's of the world from now on.
