Thank you for changing the mind of all FIU fans. Oh how we regret leaving the Sun Belt.
Back on topic, I wouldn't mind scheduling the Owls in the future. Let's wait a few years though so their detachment from the trophy sits in their hearts for a while.

Beside FAU, everyone else is just as far.... Not a strong argument. We are far away from everyone. No one else is within driving range...

By then it'll probably be a money game for them.

I don't know though.... They are going to the Big East, you know?
But in all seriousness, how do FAU fans feel about Howard now? To me, he seems out of touch with reality.... How would FAU go straight to the Big East when C-USA chose us first....

One of their talking points, of course it means FAU is ALSO on an island. If FAU can manage the distance to their closes conference mate, I think we can as well.

All I can do is pray yall see the mistake you made. Of course, it's too late now...but yall do need to realize C-DOA is a step down from the Belt.

Rice, Tulane, Tulsa? Academically I'll take that step-down any day of the week.

Ahh yes, but you know what they call the person who graduated last in his class from ASU, and first in his class from FIU?
A college graduate.

I don't see in any way how one can say C-USA is a step down from the Sun Belt. I just don't get it. Better Athletics, more money, and better academics. I am very thankful for the Sun Belt and how it has helped our program grow. There are some very good teams in the Sun Belt and it is has improved this year. But the Sun Belt is adding teams next year that will bring it back down, whereas C-USA is adding better football programs. La-Tech is a top 25 team and C-USA frequently produces top 25 teams. The Sun Belt does not.
There is NOT ONE Sun Belt program that would have turned down an invite to C-USA.

Sure...2 years ago when CUSA was beating us on the field and in the pocket book.
Since the new BCS structure went into place, and with TV dollars being renegotiated everywhere, its not nearly as pretty of a league.
CUSA was a huge step down on the field this year, and as we all know, thats the only place the average football fan cares about.

When FIU took the bait I would have agreed. If you wouldn't have taken it someone else would have (coughMTSUcough). Now, I think I prefer the Belt as long as the rest of the teams stay in place.

You know, it's the exact same members this year as last year who had Houston in the top 10, USM at 10-2, SMU and Tulsa with strong seasons, etc. Yeah they had a bad year but its the same teams as last year.
We all know that any Belt school would and will jump to C-USA if invited; it's a fact. Sure the Belt had a strong year and I'm glad we can say we contributed to the Sun Belt being the league that it is today but I have to admit that I'm looking forward to the new association.
I think a Sun Belt school can run the table just as easy as any of the other 'gang of 5' schools, maybe easier and I wouldn't be suprised if it was a WKU or MTSU. But at the end of the day, we're happy about the call from C-USA.

Hes also the President of the SBC. Of course he would say no.
So Atlanta Trojan, why would the PRESIDENT OF THE SBC say he would have his school leave the the SBC if given the opportunity??? That makes no sense. It would only damage the SBC's image and Troy's relationship with the SBC. Really?
