He won't be fired. Too big of a buyout and at the end of the day Tech will realize how hard it is to win there.

Paul Johnson won't get fired dude, the Jackets are a solid team because of him. They got upset this weekend, but that shouldn't be enough to unseat Johnson from the HC job. IF they do, Georgia Tech is dumb.

That wasnt even a rumor...just a blogger saying he should be fired.

Man if they fire Paul Johnson he'll have a new job within weeks. The guy is a very good coach, even if he did lose to Middle.

I doubt CPJ gets fired, unless Tech just goes in to a complete tailspin, even then I think he gets another year. I'm not so sure the same can be said for Al Groh.

His type of offense normally works well, but not so much in playing catch up. You have to have the right people, playing well to run it right.

Besides, Paul Johnson is an App State grad (grad school), and grew up a few miles outside Boone. You know they wouldn't fire an App State grad - ha!

If they can make peace with never being a national contender, he's the right guy. He'll win 7 or 8 games there way more often than not. Before Paul Johnson they had not won many national championships, at least not within our lifetimes.

The only thing wrong with Georgia Tech is they don't tackle. That can be fixed. Al Groh should be fired and then they can start to heal the defense.

Get their arses out thier and make them tackle in practice. Honestly, that will help fix a lot of their problems.

I don't think it's an offensive system issue for GaTech... I think it's an institutional thing. GaTech is not an appealing school to attend for most 18 year old athletes.

You guys do understand how much hate PJ is getting from GT fans right now, right? lol. He's been there for long enough that they should be doing better, not worse. Mediocrity won't be tolerated. If he doesn't change this season he WILL be gone at the year's end.

The truth is that Tech has been pulling some flim flammery on their fans for a long time. Their budget (< $50M) puts them closer to Wake Forest than it does to FSU or Clemson. They will accidentally win 9 or 10 games every 7 years but the truth is that they are no longer an elite program.

Don't be so sure. There are a lot of very unhappy GT people over his style of football and the reading is most schools will never take the chance.
