I actually think 2 or 3 shades of green while using the turtle shell look would be great. Imagine Maryland wearing black on the black at night? And they though BSU was taking advantage!

That's ugly.

But I do think that the shell pattern with two shades of green would look good.

+1

You have to be careful with field-color schemes. When you get too complicated and/or wander too far-off from your own tradition, you risk abominations like the Eastern Washington "Red Inferno" field.

Sanity needs to prevail.

Perhaps.

I'm just here to open-up a high-pressure fire-hose on the idea that some random school out-there can try what EWU did, and even declare themselves "...the next Boise State..." (blah blah blah...)

Your school's traditions and history are a key part of each one of us, as Alumni. Example: I was very happy with the Boise State "Pro Combats" at the 2011 Chick-Fil-A kickoff game. We're not Oregon, but we're a school who can have new-concept uniforms and it fits us well. I felt awful for the UGA fans there, because of the "Power-Rangers-esqe" Georgia Pro-Combats. UGA is a storied program with serious uniform tradition... violating that isn't good for the team, the school, nor the alumni/fans.

Think about it: Penn State Pro-combats. PSU needs to do its traditional thing. Period.
