If this is true, they must be getting sponsor money to do this.

It'd be Under Armour funding it.

The founder of Under Armor is a UMD grad and a huge donor. He is their Phil Knight (Oregon). That is why they had those crazy uniforms last year, which match the field in this article.

If true, I would be interested to see the backlash.

If they're spending money on stupid crap like this it would explain their money problems.

Technically they could do the turtle shell with different shades of green. The black would be hell on the players when it is hot.
I wonder if the ACC will ban black on black? I am guessing they are not bush league like the Mountain West.

You have seen Oregon's new basketball court right? I guess crazy is the new thing. The uglier the better. Luckily I think this got voted out by our students.

I'm glad Charlotte is green. These colored fields are terrible looking.

Maryland should have just done the turtle shell in green. Would have been interesting without being obnoxious.

The new turf in Bronco Stadium is much better than the old one. It always looked wet and on TV the shine would make it hard to see the lines on the field. And forget about trying to read player numbers.
