Let me get this straight, Malzahn turns down 3 million at Vanderbilt, leaves a 1.3 million dollar job at Auburn, only to take a sunbelt coaching position for 850K?

Guy moves around a lot. Pitt wasn't his first "one-and-done".

Has been in the SW, but not as far west as Arizona.

I suspect he'll do well his first year, he's a good motivator and can turn teams around. After that, anybody's guess.

HC at Vandy can be career limiting.

He may see this as a different tack to a more ideal situation (e.g. Tennessee)
