Agreed. The people that insisted that Army even be contacted are idiots of the highest order...

I say Navy is just a big a folly, also.

RE: Article: Army to the BE?
Army is right to be concerned--it got absolutely stepped on in Conference USA and its recruiting couldn't compete with what other schools were offering (sounds a lot like what Georgetown goes through in the Patriot League...)

The Cadets have a strong will to succeed in football but that doesn't require a conference to do it. Beating Navy and getting into a bowl is good enough for them.

Army and Navy are a no go for Big East and if we add them then Marinatto and his crew should be fired

Navy is a viable candidate--maybe not #1, but viable.

This idea promoted by some of you that only directional state schools are good enough for the Big East (no private schools allowed) is nonsense.

Navy is NOT a viable candidate. Their AD has made it known for years that their goal is to make their schedule soft enough to win 7-8 games a year and go bowling every year. While Navy has a bigger name than ECU, UCF or Houston there is no way that you can tell me that Navy has a higher ceiling than those other schools.

Army and Navy combined would be an injury problem waiting to happen. Not only is preparing for the triple-option/veer/etc. a *****, but the chop blocking scares the hell out of me.

Not sure why we even bother to consider either one of them.

No Army, No Navy. No football-only schools. Period.

Wake up ppl. FB onlies are the best option for the BE and army and navy are the best option location and $$ out their and could improve the $$ that the BE will get outside of just adding more teams.

Why add basketball teams that dilute the strength of the BB conference?

If the BE cont find other teams that will truly benefit the BE outside of the increase of inventory that anyteam can bring then dont add them and stay at 9

Army and Navy are not going to join everyone even the BE knows this but they have to shoot for it. Fact is they dont want to go with three cusa teams or possibly any.

Though that might be the only option left to the BE in the end. Eventhough it is a great chance that the BE can make as much as Pac12 maybe more. there is ZERO chance or raiding AQ's due to the fact they it will cause the super conference shift .

BE will wait the year and see how the Cusa schools draw nationally and locally and over success against BCS opponents.

Army and/or Navy football would be better than Villanova football for numerous reasons.

Ummm, TCU is a private school and we thought they were good enough.

RE: Article: Army to the BE?
I doubt adding a team will dilute Basketball that much. I'd rather take that chance then adding football onlies like Army. Why not add ECU if we're going down that path?

ECU would make a better "football-only" than the service acadamies (yes, even Navy).

Anyone who adds Army, Navy and Villanova should be hung or fired. MrP3242
