Please, please get some decent crowds at home for the ESPN2 games.

The Opening Game on ESPN3 should be decent. The Troy game on ESPN2 will be a good crowd, even on a Tues., if FIU is having a good season. UCF will be sold out and Duke should be solid.

Also means you close with 5-7 on the road.

But I like your OOC schedule. It's not impossible.

RE: FIU Opens with 4 of 5 at HOME
FIU's AD stated his intention to eliminate "money games" from the schedule, and only play teams willing to play us at home and home series in the original contracts. So far Rutgers has been the only team from a BCS conference to do it, and this coming season we have Duke, while next season we have Louisville at home. We already played at Pitt and at Texas A&M, with which we also signed home and home series, but their presence at FIU's stadium I'm still not sure will happen.

More importantly, for the first time in FIU's history (at least FBS level) we will have 6 home games and 6 away games. We are basically "sacrificing" a couple of millions of dollars from our budgets for the chance of playing some of the BCS teams at home while "balancing" the schedule. Let's see how it goes.

Now THAT'S a concept I wish we'd all could endorse. I don't know what financial sacrifice ya'll are making on the front end, but with a OOC that you do no worse than 2-2 (and I'm not saying that it what will happen to you because you've got a real shot at 4-0) it really greases the wheels toward bowl eligibility.

You can do that when you can pass the cost of athletics on the back of 40,000 students. We will start student fees next year, but even if you reach 20,000 students in three years, we will still play two money games a year. Boise State, Tulsa and others have always done it.
