My point is...Hathaway (UConn's athletic director) is taking this next hire seriously and is willing to go out and get a real head coach instead of making a conservative hire. I'm thrilled about that.

So is the rest of The Big East. 04-cheers

"Here’s an abbreviated list of some of Neinas’ greatest hits over the years.

Colorado (1999) - Gary Barnett
Texas A&M (2002) - Dennis Franchione
Baylor Football (2002) - Guy Morriss
Notre Dame (2002) - George O’Leary (whoops!)
Notre Dame (2002) - Tyrone Willingham
Colorado Football (2005) - Dan Hawkins
San Diego State (2005) - Chuck Long
Kansas State (2005) - Ron Prince
Washington (2006) - Tyrone Willingham
Miami (2006) - Randy Shannon

Okay, Neinas has also made some good hires along the way, like Urban Meyer at Florida."

Chuck Neinas

If my memory serves me correctly, Neivas was used by USF to hire both Jim Leavitt & Skip Holtz......

Both were great hires

I realize that hiring a search firm is the way things are done now, but I'd like to believe that finding candidates for a coaching position is something Hathaway should be doing. Goes for any AD.

Then again, who ran the search at Pitt when Haywood was hired?

I'd prefer him to Hank Hughes.

I am going to agree. Paul Pasqualoni would be my choice.

There have been a lot of interest for UCONN's job after Edsall left. BTW, I am glad he left on his own cause UCONN would probably never fire him. He has taken UCONN as far he can. It is time for a change. People that say UCONN is not a good job is crazy. Edsall was paid well at UCONN, he made $1.7M this year and will be higher next year. He was being paid at market value.

I think Connecticut is a great position. The Huskies have provide a lot of support and money to build the program.

That understood, Rich Rod should take the year off before making his next move.
