RE: Rumor in Memphis is that Brunetti may be having second thoughts about WVU
How many 4 and 5 stars are there? 200? How many 1, 2 and 3 star prospects? A couple thousand? The hit percentage on the higher ranked guys is so much higher. That's all I'm saying. No question Edsall has done a great job with his kids but as soon as he hits big with these lower ranked prospects he is going to start targeting and getting more 3 and 4 star players. That is when UConn will really take off.

I think the problem is our recruits are just underrated. I think Edsall knows exactly what he is doing and he is evaluating kids on his own vs. relying on Scout or Rivals. The kids he brought in should be like 3 or 4 stars if they were rated properly. That's all I am saying.
I don't question anymore when Edsall brings a kid in. I know the kid will play a role at some point in the program.

Sorry dude. Did not mean to derail the thread. All I am saying is if I am a WVU fan I won't worry about a 5 star recruit losing interest. This is not like basketball where stars might mean a little more than football.
I only used UCONN as an example because according to the Scout and Rivals we are suppose to have MAC level talent and we clearly don't. I can't think of any program more maligned than UCONN recruiting when it comes to stars.

I heard somthing about the new HC at memphis is close to his high school coach or something like that...I hope the kid comes to WVU but can never fault an 18 yr old for wanting to stay close to home...and playing time at QB at WVU may be hard to come by

Jackson
I hope the kid honors his verbal commitment and attends WVU.

The only thing that I have seen from Brunetti is that he is still with WVU, but would listen to what Larry Porter has to say if he decides to recruit him.

Like I said, you don't know how good they are until they show up on campus. Zach Fraser was a former US Army 5 star recruit. Between Endres and Fraser, I would say Endres is better and he is younger.
Take this past weekend for example. ND's DL has four 4 star recruits and 1 3 star. UCONN's OL has 4 2 star recruits and 1 3 star. UCONN's 3 star kid ( Eric K) was hurt and they brought in another 2 star who more than held his own. You don't have to be a genius to see which unit was the more dominating in the end. Also, UCONN's unit is much younger. Like I said, recruiting stars don't mean squat on the field.
Look at the GIF below, our 2 star DL did fairly well against ND's 5 star OL at the goal line stand.
I'll say that's true to an extent. 2 star guys can definitely become stars and we have seen that at UC with guys like Mickins, Byrd, Goodman etc. but more often than not give me the higher rated guys. Give me the guys with the big time offers, more often than not they can get on the field and contribute earlier. Kelly's best recruits so far (Pead, DJ Woods) are significant contributors as true sophomores and our best freshman recruit from this year is our nickel corner.
Sure, it would be nice to get 5 star recruits but don't discount the 2 stars. UCONN coaches know what they were doing with those 2 stars. They were talented kid who never got rated for one reason or another. We lost some players, but young kids step in. Our 2 freshmen CBs did pretty decent against 2 of the better WRs in the college game in Floyd and Tate. Darius Butler was a 2 star and he is starting for the Pats. Tyrone Branch was a 1 star recruit and he might be going to the pro bowl starting for the Raiders. Look it up, the guy is leading the NFL safety or near the top in tackles. Frankly, I will take those kids over any of the 5 stars out there.
ND got a 5 star LB playing against UCONN. I will take any of our 2 star LBs (Lutrus, Wilson and Llody) over that kid any day of the week. The ND LB was getting mauled by our OL.
sf,
your getting confused here, its not tyron branch, it's pronounced tyvon.......

I know you didn't start the whole Sammygate scenario over on MT.org. I just wanted to poke some fun at rumors coming out of Memphis in general
There is a difference between rumors coming out of Memphis and rumors coming out of an idiot.
Bingo ............ who has Monkeys flying out of his Ass. And Yes the rumor started with TennStud
.
your sig is stupid, youve lumped a bunch of unrelated things together and called them atheism... atheism and the big bang are completely unrelated, as are atheism and evolution
all atheism is, is a belief that there is no supernatural beings that control things
but you can make anything sound stupid if you want to, see?
btw, i know its hard for simple minded people to grasp, but it IS possible for things to happen without wizards and magic being involved

If Brunetti ends up at MSU, good luck to him. But I seriously doubt he'll get a chance to play in a BCS game playing for MSU. He will at West Virginia...
