RE: SBC Power Ranking - Week 6
Don't get it that way. I'm not criticizing ULM per se, as much as giving one reason why ULM didn't look remotely as dominant as they looked in the first half with Revell manning the QB position. I thought that was evident, and after seeing how great Revell played against FIU, that his presence was missed by ULM a lot....

It was ULM's second string QB that beat ya'll last year. But you already know that.
Wells is a red-shirt freshman so he knows the system pretty well. He just hasn't worked with the first team as much (once the season starts for most schools, most 2nd teamers rarely work with 1st teamers). He'll have 11 days before Kentucky and another 6 before Troy to get used to everybody....if Revell doesn't come back. ULM also has another red-shirt freshman and two true freshmen QB's who we're very high on and it wouldn't bother me to give any of them a chance. We'd rather red-shirt the true frosh though.

And if teams start improving they are not out of the race; it's still early. This all goes back to talk about FAU being done.
Last night was a game between one of the best offenses in the SBC versus the best defense in the SBC in terrible weather conditions. Both defenses showed up and played extremely well.
As far as ULM going into a shell in the second half, you did see where ULM lost their QB for the game and a redshirt freshman had to come in, did you not? I dare say that most, if not all, of the SBC teams would have slowed down after losing their starting QB. And you did see that one drive where the offense did what it needed to do, drive the field and use up about 7 minutes of clock, limting the amount of time for ASU? The only downside was the FG bouncing off the goal post. Now, if Revell is out for any significant amount of time then there is great cause for concern. But who knows, many a young QB has stepped up and surprised folks when thrust into the fire.
You prove my point. I was surprised that as the weather let up, ASU could not score on a defense that FIU hung 30-something on. And now you say that ULM has lost their starting QB for awhile, this may jepordize their leadership position even more. No one's out of it yet..except maybe WKU.

I don't think our coaches know we were ever in it. Is it too early to wait on next FB season?

If you look at the standings, you could probably say 0-2 in the belt, you are most likely done, that is only 2 teams, so could still be anyone's conference.
CURRENT SBC STANDINGS:
ULM: 3-0
Troy: 2-0
ULL: 1-0
MTSU: 1-1
FIU: 1-1
FAU: 0-1
WKU: 0-1
Ark. State: 0-2
NT: 0-2

Is the NEW Class of the Belt: Troy, Arkansas State, Middle Tennessee, and ULM? weird not seeing Florida Atlantic in that talk.
Troy,ASU and MTSU have always finished in the top half of the belt. ULM has just joined us this year. FAU had a couple of good years which means nothing unless they continue there success. Don't forget about ULL. They always seem to find a way to finish in the top four.
I think you can safely remove ASU from that list now, not sure what they've ever done in the belt in the past. And as far as MTSU....nice OCC's but it's time to put your big boy pants on.
FAU's not done, they've only got one loss in the Belt and ULM ceratinly looked beatable last night. Point is, it's too early to write any one off just yet.
What has FIU done this season? Beat a crappy WKU team.

LOL...some people are so defensive. He's only saying. Folks, it's still very early in the SBC title chase. And I agree, FIU has only beat one not so good team this year and hasn't shown much.

you'd have a different opinion if FIU was 3-0 in-Conference and was being touted as such.

Oh Beed...
Comparing our 24 point loss on the road to a very good conference rival to your own 21 point loss at home to a team in transition from DII to FCS...seriously?
Anyway, if you want to know what we've done you could ask Memphis, Maryland or North Texas, but why not just wait till the 24th and find out for yourself?
