Israel Being Forced to act against Iran?
Obama outsourcing Iran to Israel

Good write up as to why our feckless wimp of a president is so very much in over his head.

Which in summary suggests that Ahmadinejad and Iran as a nuclear threat will just go away.

The technology, while some impressive feats, has far too much uncertainty and unreliability to be counted on at this level. The vagueness involved is certainly no comfort.

I am reminded of the false prophets in Jeremiah's time.

Iran just defaulted on a 100MM payment for a crude oil tanker. They are probably in worse shape than the public is aware of due to falling oil pricies, maybe a waiting game is now in order?

RE: Israel Being Forced to act against Iran?
The S-300 anti-aircraft are what were reported to be on the "lost" Russian ship (the article that I posted yesterday about the Russians hijacking their own ship).

Quote:the longer the U.S. delays playing hardball with Iran, the sooner Israel is likely to strike. A report published today by the Bipartisan Policy Center, and signed by Democrat Chuck Robb, Republican Dan Coats, and retired Gen. Charles Ward, notes that by next year Iran will "be able to produce a weapon's worth of highly enriched uranium . . . in less than two months." No less critical in determining Israel's timetable is the anticipated delivery to Iran of Russian S-300 anti-aircraft batteries: Israel will almost certainly strike before those deliveries are made, no matter whether an Iranian bomb is two months or two years away.

This is why I think everyone is looking at the wrong target. Everything you hear indicates that you may or may not be able to stop the Iranian Nuclear program with air strikes. It's pretty certain that you could knock out Iranian oil production and distribution with strategic air strikes. And, the results would be far more punitive to the power structure.

.

No matter what the circumstances surrounding this heated wait to strike Iran by Israel, it blows me away that Israel as sat around this long and not just stuck Iran back to the days of Adam and Eve.

We all know it is coming and with the House of Saud giving the green light to do all the fly overs Israel wants in their bombing runs, it amazes me they are sitting so silent.

This silence will not last much longer as we all are very aware.

If you do that, you get far more instability in the country, far more uncertainty in the response, and far more resentment from the outside world.

None of those bother me - they are all preferable to the current stability in Iran. What would worry me is (1) World instability caused by taking that much oil off the market, and (2) possible Iranian response in Saudi, etc.

The ones that would hurt the most are the Chinese and European who have contracts with Iran for oil (IIRC) as well as Russia that is probably owed $$$ for the Nuclear facilities they built in Iran. As far as I'm concerned, if Russia and China pay for this mess, it's their just deserts.

The Iranian Bomb program is pretty close to the North Korean program.

If the North Koreans are having problems getting the AQ Khan design to work, maybe the Iranians are as well.

Iran has some advantages in that they can evade sanctions easier than North Korea, and therefore get in the people and materials necessary to make their bomb work.

Hell, just kill the Iranian leadership. Bomb their houses before they start spending nights in the bunkers--which they will do as soon as they sense an Israeli airstrike is coming.

Of course...It is always America's damn fault. It is somehow OUR duty to stop this? The Iranian people are going to suffer terribly. We do not need to worry about Israel...They will not hesitate to eliminate ANY direct Iranian threat. On this issue...I agree with our POTUS.

RE: Israel Being Forced to act against Iran?

The eastern world, it is exploding
Violence flarin’, bullets loadin’
You’re old enough to kill, but not for votin’
You don’t believe in war, but what’s that gun you’re totin’
And even the Jordan River has bodies floatin’

But you tell me
Over and over and over again, my friend
Ah, you don’t believe
We’re on the eve
of destruction.

Don’t you understand what I’m tryin’ to say
Can’t you feel the fears I’m feelin’ today?
If the button is pushed, there’s no runnin’ away
There’ll be no one to save, with the world in a grave
[Take a look around ya boy, it's bound to scare ya boy]

And you tell me
Over and over and over again, my friend
Ah, you don’t believe
We’re on the eve
of destruction.

Yeah, my blood’s so mad feels like coagulatin’
I’m sitting here just contemplatin’
I can’t twist the truth, it knows no regulation.
Handful of senators don’t pass legislation
And marches alone can’t bring integration
When human respect is disintegratin’
This whole crazy world is just too frustratin’

And you tell me
Over and over and over again, my friend
Ah, you don’t believe
We’re on the eve
of destruction.

Think of all the hate there is in Red China
Then take a look around to Selma, Alabama
You may leave here for 4 days in space
But when you return, it’s the same old place
The poundin’ of the drums, the pride and disgrace
You can bury your dead, but don’t leave a trace
Hate your next-door neighbor, but don’t forget to say grace
And… tell me over and over and over and over again, my friend
You don’t believe
We’re on the eve
Of destruction
Mm, no no, you don’t believe
We’re on the eve
of destruction.

It's funny ... I heard that for the first time in years and was sitting in my car to let it finish after lunch the other day. Awesome song, regardless of the message.
