Bad loss for their conference.

Let's not let that happen to us, SBC'ers !

That was a terrible loss.

I'm sure Temple fans will say something along the lines of how they're such a good 1-AA team but it still shouldn't have happened.

Has to doubly (is that a word?) hurt since 'Nova is a crosstown rival.

Wonder if Villanova will ever move up?

Nope. They had the same offer UConn had, move to I-A by whatever date and gain auto admission to the Big East. 'Nova said no thanks.

Villanova has a 12,000 seat on campus stadium that was built in the 1920s and they draw perhaps 5,000 per game. I don't see them moving up in football - they are very happy playing the schedule they play, and leaving the big time footprint in basketball and the middle to long distance running aspect of track.

Last I saw Villanova was ranked #5 in 1-AA/FCS; Temple should have won, but they played a quality opponent.

This will certainly help Villanova pass many FBS teams in the Sagarin ratings.

Damn people for wanting to talk about football on a football message board. Why would anyone want to talk about an upset?

Has absolutely nothing to do with your conference.

Owl, Give us an F ing break, bra. We talk about other teams all the time on here. Believe it or not, we actually keep up with what's happening outside of our conference. If you don't mind, your highness, we will continue to have the conversations about the teams we want to talk about on OUR BOARD.01-wingedeagle

Oh I'm sorry. I had no idea that we weren't allowed to talk about what happens in other conferences.

Sounds like if the MAC fans have their way, in a year Temple won't have anything to do with their conference either.

JHG722 is obviously flustered about his team's loss.

Posts don't have to be strictly about the Sun Belt on here...

RE: MAC's Temple lost to Villanova tonight
Anyway, I think this is the danger that many programs face when they schedule what they perceive to be a body bag game with a FCS team. On one hand you can lose to a Utah State, or Idaho, or Eastern Michigan- but a loss to an FCS team is another matter. Unfortunately it looks better to lose to a bad FBS team than a very good FCS team.

Bad for Temple. I wonder how a loss like this will hurt their chances in remaining football in their 2010 MAC contract renegotiation.

Same situations apply for us when the AQ leagues come a calling. Difference is they HAVE to play a certain number of us in order to be bowl elligilbe since only one FCS counts.

Rake those leagues over the coals for a "bodybag" game. Nothing under 1 Million going forward IMHO and limit to 2 a year per team. Get the cash, chance at an upset, and expsoure.

I can't believe the people on the MAC boards are talking about getting FIU to move to their conference lol I almost died laughing! I don't know how under ANY circumstances that EVER happens. It would be the death of FIU!
