God Bless America at the Yankees game
http://www.nydailynews.com/ny_local/2009...less_.html

Quote:Campeau-Laurion said his clash with cops began when he decided to use the bathroom at the start of the seventh-inning stretch. He got up and made his way down the aisle as the song began playing.

A police officer blocked his path and told him he couldn’t leave during the song, the lawsuit alleges.

Campeau-Laurion explained that he needed to use the restroom and was not concerned about “God Bless America.” Then he attempted to walk past the officer.

Before Campeau-Laurion could take a step, the police officer grabbed his right arm and twisted it behind his back, the lawsuit claimed.

A second officer twisted Campeau-Laurion’s left arm behind his back, and the two officers marched him down several ramps to the stadium’s exit with his arms pinned behind his back.

awful

almost reminecient of Woodrow Wilson's goons shooting a guy in the back at a baseball game for not singing the National Anthem. Atleast Obama doesn't have an 250,000 APL, atleast yet. Hopefully this Officer was acting on his own and this isn't some sort of directive moving down the pipes of law enforcement.

If Obama truly hates the US like many of the righties on here believe then I would imagine he would not care if people paid attention to God Bless America or not.

forcing people to sing "God Bless America" or the National Anthem as with the case of Woodrow Wilson via the force of the Gun...is completely anti-ethical to American Values.

in this case it was paticularly stupid, guess the cop wanted him to piss his pants

I think you mean antithetical. I'd like to hear what the cop's explanation is. With the case here in Dallas where the cop lost his job for stopping an ex-Cowboys player from visiting his dying mother in law in the hospital - at least the cop had some reason for holding the guy up (in that speeding is dangerous, yada yada).

Other than GGniner trying to make Obama the scapegoat yet again for something he had nothing to do with? Other than GGniner being a pathetic partisan hack?

Nothing.

didn't want to make a big deal about it, but second time in as many days (I'm not big on spelling smack, myself). It's still perfectly clear what you meant.

Another example of putting a control freak in a position of power. This guy has no business being an officer. Can you imagine what would happen to you if you really committed a crime around this *******?... I wish the guy had pissed on him.

what does last august have to do with anything I wrote? I wasn't stating anything other than the fact this happened at baseball games before(though worse in being shot for not singing) under Wilson and his American Protective League. Which is something similar which Obama or atleast Emmanuel would like to start up agian

Other than him being the starting pitcher that night AND batting clean up AND the song should have been a tribute to him instead of an ungrateful, unapologetic country, nothing.

The above link is dead but I heard the guy was really boozing it up and he got off easy by just being tossed from the game. We're a sue-happy nation.

RE: God Bless America at the Yankees game
Question, are these actual cops? If not, and since the Yankees are a private company, I don't see an issue here. Unless someone wants to make the case that the stadium is tax-payer funded. Then again, I normally always side with a private individual doing what he/she/it wants with his/her/their own business, in this case, the Yankees organization. Is it draconian? Hell yes. Do I support it? Hell no. However, unless the case can be made that they were actually cops on-duty and that the stadium, being publicly-funded, I stand by my position.
