Bourgeois_Rage Wrote:Right, but people hear UFO and don't think unidentified flying object, they think aliens in a flying saucer (cue the theremin). Plus I see stuff I can't identify all the time in the sky, but I don't go running to the media or publishing every flashing light that moves weird on a website. If I posted on here that I saw a UFO, you'd all think I thought that I saw aliens, otherwise why tell anyone...

He didn't run out and report it, he was asked and responded. Shirley MacClaine is the one who put it in a book.

Well I don't know the details of his experience or how they became public. I guess I was referring to the more general cultural phenomenon of UFO sightings anyway. Like I said, I've seen stuff I can't explain, and there may have been a time time when I would have thought "Aliens!". But the term UFO holds that connotation for many, still. And for me, seeing isn't believing. our sense are easily fooled.

Just for fun:

Huckabee keeps changing his message as well. Last night he went back to saying that he didn't want people to have to live his views because they aren't all of the same religion, but then I look back at what he said about changing the constitution to reflect his views. I think he is going to be in trouble in the near future.

The Huckster is runniong short on funds. He needs a strong second in Florida otherwise he is toast. I don't see that. He will be a long 4th.

He knows he is finished too. On the MSNBC Debate last night, he played "too nice" and didn't really go after anyone.

He's running for VP now. He can bring "social conservatives" to MCain that otherwise are turned off by 'Amigo's" Immigration sellout.

The first reports included "objects" hovering, going slow. then accelerating. F-16's don't hover.

There were reports of F-16's "chasing" the object.

The reason I say its a MV-22 tiltrotor is that it doesn't sound anything like a helicopter while in hover mode or in transition to level flight.

The engines on the MV-22 are the same turboprops that are in C-130's.

If what the witnesses near Stephensville, Texas, saw were really MV-22 Tiltrotors in training then the military should just come out and say so. All of the shady denials and story changes do not do anything but fuel the irresistible speculation that something more sinister took place. What is the big freaking deal? Military exercises in a military town? Duh! If people like WMD Owl know about the existence of MV-22 Tiltrotors then they are obviously not something top secret. This inability to just tell the truth about the most simple things is a perfect example of why governments and politicians make me sick. Even when there is no need to hide something, they do it anyway, so now people might never know what really happened that night. Stupid. Stupid. Stupid.

Why would Ospreys be in North Texas?

The MV-22 final assembly is in Fort Worth at Bell Helicopter. And I have seen MV-22's flying in the area several times.

Of course, it could also be a VSTOL/UCAV design from Lockheed-Martin. They have a huge production facility (the fomer General Dynamics F-16 facility) on the west side of Fort Worth. They will build the F-35 there. They did the work on the prototype of the Navy A-12 "Flying Dorito" there back in the late 80's. Lots of "interesting" things fly out of there.

It isn't "hiding" anything as much as the PIO (Public Information Officers) at the military facilities do not have clear and concise orders about what they can and cannot say.

PIO's don't say anything until it is cleared by someone higher in the chain of command.

By the way, until 2003 the US Government DENIED that this facility located north of Las Vegas EVEN EXISTED. (Despite lots of recon sat photos of the base taken by numerous organizations)... and this is only half the facility..its too big of a file to show all.. but there is a huge dry lake to the north with other hangar facilities and runways.
