How good is the SEC
I know that everyone wants to say the SEC is the toughest conference and everything, but if you look at who they have beat out of conference it doesn't add up. The SEC has only won one game out of conference against a team that is currently in the top 25. I think that righ there shows that maybe the SEC isn't as tough as everyone thinks.

RE: How good is the SEC
Oh, not this again. The SEC is the best conference and the Big Ten is very weak again this year. Big Ten is rated as the worst BCS conference this season in the sagarin ratings. Pit whoever wins the SEC against Ohio State (who is going to win the Big Ten) and the SEC team will win again. If Ohio State played in the SEC they would not be undefeated right now. Every team in the SEC has a tougher SOS than Ohio State.

Compare the SOS of the SEC and the Big 10:

1 LSU 75.85 (10)
8 Florida 77.38 (6)
11 Auburn 79.35 (3)
12 Kentucky 74.17 (17)
14 South Carolina 72.35 (31)
19 Georgia 71.93 (33)
25 Alabama 70.48 (43)
35 Tennessee 74.86 (12)
37 Arkansas 68.25 (62)
47 Vanderbilt 72.43 (30)
62 Mississippi State 72.50 (29)
85 Mississippi 75.22 (11)

3 Ohio State 67.80 (71) <-- Check out that SOS
21 Michigan 71.92 (35)
29 Penn State 67.35 (76)
32 Purdue 66.39 (82)
42 Michigan State 70.51 (42)
45 Illinois 71.80 (36)
55 Wisconsin 65.12 (90)
57 Indiana 62.64 (108)
72 Northwestern 67.48 (73)
86 Iowa 68.91 (55)
100 Minnesota 72.94 (27)

Regardless, all of college football is seemingly down this year. Very few run away favorites. The MAC is but a small microcosm of CFB.

The MAC is a joke this year.

I kind of like how everything is going down this year though. It will make for an interesting last few weeks of the regular season.
In a season where my two teams have 1 win each, I'm cheering for a Ohio State loss and another USC loss

RE: How good is the SEC
The SEC is the best conference in the NCAA hands down. The MAC is in a tie for last with the Sun Belt. The Big Ten is 4th or 5th at best. Michigan, Ohio State, and Wisconsin will likely get smoked in bowl games once again if they play an SEC team as Snoopy said.

Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State, Wisky, and Illinois all have top 20 recruiting classes right now for next year... the Big Ten will be back in the top 3 soon.

EDIT: Why can't this be on the main page? It's college football related for God's sake.

Sagarin lists the MAC as 10th.

1 SOUTHEASTERN (A) = 80.83
2 BIG EAST (A) = 79.20
3 PAC-10 (A) = 78.21
4 BIG 12 (A) = 78.20
5 ATLANTIC COAST (A) = 77.34
6 BIG TEN (A) = 75.36
7 MOUNTAIN WEST (A) = 69.09
8 I-A INDEPENDENTS (A) = 65.12
9 WESTERN ATHLETIC (A) = 62.51
10 MID-AMERICAN (A) = 61.02
11 SOUTHERN (AA)= 58.85
12 CONFERENCE USA (A) = 58.69
13 COLONIAL (AA)= 56.81
14 GATEWAY (AA)= 56.29
15 SUN BELT (A) = 56.27

You do realize that 3 of those conferences below the MAC are div 1aa right? I don't care what Sagarin says.. my own two eyes say this conference is a joke.

You obviously haven't been paying attention to how the SBC and CUSA are doing. They're both worse.

They all suck. Better?

I'm not following that Sagarin thing one bit because SIU, WIU, and Northern Iowa would compete for a MAC title this season.

I'm not even going to try to argue for the Big Ten, I know the Big Ten is terrible this year, but what about the Pac-10, I think that you can definetly come up with an arguement for them.

Not a fair comparison. The Big 10 is being brought down significantly because Iowa and Wisconsin both played us and no SEC teams did. 03-lmfao

Don't mistake a down year in the MAC for some sort of D1-AA equalizer.

Oh I know. Just re-enforcing my point that the MAC is God awful this year and is comparable to a few div 1aa conferences.

RE: How good is the SEC
SEC is very, very good year in year out for past fifteen seasons - probably the best.

PAC 10 is much improved top to bottom this year compared to previous PAC 10 seasons but it's still not equivalent to SEC.
