Atlanta needs to host a game especially when you consider the most recent members App State, GS, CCU in close proximity. In addition, it would also increase exposure for schools like Ga State. Please make the game in the dome as well. No fans want to spend their holiday vacation on a cold field. I love regular season games out in the elements, but during the bowl season and late December these games should be played in warm weather conditions for the traveling fans.
I disagree, Atlanta has too many distractions for a SBC bowl to be successful. Our bowl destinations are all fine but if one gets moved I think the expanded CCU stadium and Myrtle Beach would be the best spot to move it to.
I think after our next expansion to ~21k seats, our stadium and location would be perfect for a bowl host site.
However, I don't see anyone in our conference wanting to play a bowl game in a conference foe's stadium.
I know I wouldn't want to go to a bowl game played at Georgia Southern or App. Not sure why you guys would feel any different about us.
It would have to be a bowl with no SBC tie in, which would mean no benefit to the conference. It would only benefit us (CCU) as a host site for a bowl game.
Nah, it'd definitely be with a SBC tie-in. MWC sends teams to the Potato bowl and New Mexico Bowl.
Would you have any interest in playing a bowl game in our stadium?
Think about how much worse it would be if you had already played a game at Coastal that year in the regular season.
Part of the fun of bowls is playing in a new atmosphere.
Only way it would be worth it is if it had a P5 tie in with like a 6 win ACC or SEC team but I don't see that happening.
The Dollar General Bowl is played in South Alabama's stadium, isn't it?
