Why does a 7-win CUSA team face Florida State and FIU faces one of the top AAC teams while one of our co-champs plays North Texas? There's no reason we shouldn't get as many Power 5 and AAC Bowl games as CUSA does. I believe since the 2014-2015 Bowl season we've played multiple teams from the Mountain West, CUSA, and MAC and none from the AAC or Power 5.

Meanwhile, the AAC might still be the gold standard of G5 leagues but they are 2-10 (LoL) against the mythical "G4" over the last 3 bowl seasons and they are crowing because their second-best team that was the preseason favorite for the Access Bowl squeaked by a 6-6 Big 12 team (oooooh none of us G4 peasants could beat that machine!).

No?

A P5 conference has to want to play a bowl against a Sunbelt team.
You guys have made some progress over the past 2 years and maybe there will be a bowl in the next cycle where your champ gets to play a #11 or #12 SEC/ACC team.
But the historical perception from the current bowl cycle (4 years ago) shows no P5 conference wants to play a SB team which has been perceived to the lowest FBS conference.
