I have a hard time understanding how you earn the benefit of doubt. When giving someone the benefit of the doubt, you are believing what they say and taking their word because you, yourself, have some doubt about will happen. Perhaps you were looking for a different saying, but Siddle can't earn the benefit of doubt and I have no idea what you're going on about with how this translates to all aspects of life.

We'll all get to see the results and then we'll get to evaluate him as a coach and recruiter. The reason I'm not critical of Siddle now for lack of size is the same reason I don't celebrate/stress NFL draft grades. It will take 2-3 years to really know what we have in Siddle. There are exceptions to this; it was pretty obvious Keatts had something special going on here in year 2 and it was pretty obvious during year 2 that McGrath wasn't the guy. Trying to draw conclusions based on the first recruiting cycle is mind numbing, but you're out there and if he fails you can say you were on it first. Congratulations!
