Burke was 5-8 in conference play; I'm not sure what everyone else is returning, but there is a lot Siddle has to do with this roster. I don't top 5 should be the expectation, but it is fine as a goal going into the season but it's too early to really have that discussion.

When the kid from Creedmoor was offered, Dodd commented on his Twitter feed. I gave up trying to decipher what kid's thoughts and intentions based off of social media years ago, but at the very least, that doesn't seem like that has already checked out.

I know a lot of folks gave Burke a pass without Shy. We very well could have been .500. My point was we had the talent to compete with the top half of the league and seem to have added some good pieces. We'll get to see how it all plays out, hopefully for the better. Seems weird to be more optimistic than the rest of the group :)

It's a bit of a 180 for you to say the he was a .500 in conference. I thought you were a "show me" guy; you didn't give him a pass for injuries during the season when we lost to JMU, and we'll have injuries next year too.

I'm excited for Siddle and I have confidence in him. Unrealistic expectations don't help him and will lead to premature frustration. Finishing .500 in conference play is my goal next year. I think you're overestimating the mix of talent that we have on the roster. To get to the point everybody around here expects the roster is going to need a rather serious overhaul.

Were we not able to compete with the top of the league last year with the talent on the roster? We are definitely a few bigs short but if he were to add a few i don't see any reason we shouldn't compete with the top again.
And yes, i still think not having a better plan when Shy was out falls on Burke. But i never really denied the fact not having Shy made a difference.
