That’s the flip side of the coin with this flurry of recruiting though. I’m sure some of these kids see it as “I may only get playing time next year and then be tossed to the bench.” In Dodd’s case I think that’s less likely, but who knows.

Here’s the thing. I’m not expecting anything better than a 7th place finish in conference next year. Somewhere between 7th and 10th, with 7th or 8th more likely.

The recruiting is pretty strong right now, but he’s doing it by selling his brand based off of Keatts’ results three years ago. He essentially says as much in almost all of his interviews. He basically has this year as a free pass to do that and then he has to prove that HE can coach and win with the same style. That’s why my expectations are so low. I’d love to be wrong and am hoping that I am. I just want to see how much fire is behind all of the smoke.

Also, for the love of everything holy I hope Dodd decides to stay.

Maybe my expectations are unrealistic, but we should be top 5 IMO. Burke took last years squad to basically .500 when given the chance, and the roster should be improved next year. That, of course it if Dodd doesn't leave. That would hurt big time. And i wonder what that would mean for Shy, i know they are tight.
